| I’ve said before, we’ll never know who is responsible for the ineffective coaching being on the outside, until the assistants get a chance to prove themselves. Having been an assistant coach, I know just how frustrating it can be having to implement plans and systems that you principally do not agree with, but that is your job. You trust the plan, trust the system and ultimately trust the board. However; it is up to the board to assess the system, is it working? If not, why not.
Lee could be a great coach, could be. But we don’t know yet. He’ll get his chance, likely to be somewhere else, but we may see him back down the line.
I’ve said elsewhere, we face a really tough run. If we drop points against Wakefield, we are staring down the barrels of missing the play offs should we not get something from Wigan, Saints and Leeds multiple times. Both Hull clubs, Leeds and Huddersfield will fancy their chances of making the play offs, Cas if they can turn things around too. I think we’re one or two bad results away from a change.
The caretaker would be likely to have the “take the reigns off” approach and let this talented bunch play, as there is no deterrent. They won’t get the job regardless of results.
That said, Price has a habit of delivering just enough to stay above water. I expect a win against Wakefield, spirited go at Saints but fall short and then a win against Leigh which will paper over the cracks for another month or so.

Well he obviously wasn’t allowed to coach our attack so maybe playing golf was the best thing for him. I often asked the question what was he actually doing. So either he was not allowed to put his style in it or as you suggest he would rather play golf then yes it is a good move.

| Reminds me a little of when Brian Kidd had to leave United to prove himself elsewhere rather than being promoted from within.
Alright Briers is still an assistant but like Kidd he's gone to a smaller club from his home environment

He has found time to have a shave and to get his hair cut, so he must be doing something different.

| He needed to move to develop himself as a coach.
Good move for him.

And if he turns out to be the real deal (and it was Price who was the problem all along) then there's nothing to stop him coming back in a few years' time. He wasn't Austin'd by the club, both he and us needed a change and he's left on good terms.
