If he's got a sponsored car I hope he remembers to take his hand brake off instead of driving round with it on like he used to do in college many years ago. In his dad's Mercedes as well !!
Interesting, but 300 days doesn't sound a lot of time to make substantial changes. When you look at somebody's job you think ' yeh, I could do a lot better than that'. Then after about 2 months you realise that there was a hell of a lot more to it than you first thought. Even worse, when you suggest changes / improvements your staff tell you that they had tried that idea a few months ago and that it didn't work. But anyway, a fresh mind brings new ideas and he will have an awful lot of new contacts that will help the club as well.
What are the things that we are doing that are world class ? He didn't say, but my guess would be sponsorship (deal with Emirates) and perhaps the 'community stadium', where we have very strong contacts with the town, lease out offices, maintain strong contacts with ex players etc etc etc.
What are the stuff that we are not doing well ? Well it will be interesting to hear what other people think. I will go for selling our brand to a much wider audience. That would include not just locally, where we don't seem to be selling the game to new areas / communities in the town, shopping areas, match day advertising, but throughout the UK and perhaps even farther afield.
The other one would be doing some of our current activities a bit more professionally. The club web site for instance still has the 2014 box holders listed under the corporate tab, and during pre-season it was simply full of 'buy your ticket' advertising. That seems a very basic mistake to me - fans want a constant stream of information about the squad, individual players, injury updates etc in order to come onto the site. The balance of information / advertising was all wrong.
