Some would yeah. My point was that if we were offered say 5k tickets at £18-£20 each from the start then I think that we would have sold them all as we have done at KR recently.

And I'm really not having a go at Saints fans as we get roughly the same number of people through the turnstyles each week (It just takes us a lot longer....). I just think that the Saints club will need to work a lot harder for similar crowds to KR. That will need to involve an attractive pricing policy & distribution for home and away supporters.

That's a problem though because the South Stand is not priced at that level. The West Stand is the allocated away stand. So really unless you're prepared to pay the extra amount and/or sit with Saints fans, the away club can only be offered a maximum of 3000 tickets, as that's the maximum the away stand holds.

You're right in your next post but I think it's a case of giving Saints time to work things out. This is the first time we have had an all-seater stadium to contend with, for instance, plus the logistics of bussing people to the ground. Judging by the articles on the Saints website and in the local rag this week I think the club know they have to figure out how to attract the fans to travel that incredible antarctic expedition that is St Helens to Widnes.

Can you get a train from St. Helens to Widnes? It might not be far but if you can't I'd be put off going if I lived there unless the games were on Sunday afternoons and I fancied a bike ride. Friday nights would be a no go more often than not though.

Personally I'm made up you're in Widnes this year as it's far easier to get to on the train. St. Helens Central serves a very limited service from Manchester, and St. Helens junction is miles from the ground (Knowsley Road anyway, not sure about the new one). Very irritating for non drivers like me - although I still went every year!
