The number of players a team uses in a season depends on their injuries, and the number of injuries you get is sheer luck. Just because your fit doesnt mean your not going to pull a muscle in training. Or not break a bone. Its all about how fortunate or unfortunate you are. It only takes you too land awkwardly, or in some cases even just land.
So to be honest, this thread is very much a non-starter, just because you've only used 24 players, doesnt mean your players are stronger or fitter than the next team. It just means you havent got as many injuries, havent had as many throughout the season, havent had many bans, or had to give compassionate leave etc.... Whichever way you look at it its not superior fitness, that is the reason you've only had to use 24 players. Just sheer luck.'"
Not true. Luck is obviously a factor but things such as muscle mass/tone and core stability are much bigger contributors to the injury list. Sports psychology plays a MASSIVE part, especially in recurrent injuries. There may well also be players who make it onto the pitch and play, who may have had a few weeks off last year. Possibly due to one of our two new physios, who is the highest paid physio in Super League and uses some pretty high-tech stuff to patch players up.
