Was going to make a thread direct at Adam Walne last night but after sleeping on it decided with would be unfair to target a single individual. However there is some serious deadwood in this squad that needs moving on at end of the season.

A Walne - had the hype for years and never seem to kick of, limited yards make, silly knock on's and penalty machine.
Weller - If anything we seem to have gone backwards since he's been introduced back into the fold. Another candidate who gives lots of penalties away and forever knocking on.
Olsi - Doesn't seems to have kicked on after impressing back end of last season, then again he was playing for a contract then.
Joseph - No explanation required.
Logan - He gets through some unfair criticism but in reality he isn't upto the required standard.


There a few other younger playing but as they haven't been in the 1st fold as much I've not mentioned them, also think one of Johnson and MCB will leave.

We are desperate for a good hooker and a prop who'll make good yards and is good in defence. We literally have no go forward and our goal line defence.... Do we have any....

Yup, all of them can go for me. As well as Sarsfield.

Yeah I know mate, Forster too but was pointing out playing that playing 1st team. Once it become inevitable we won't make the top 8, hope some younger guys get a run out, Wood, Bibby, Wilkinson, Lannon even Gee, even though I don't think he'll make the grade, still deserves his chance as Walne has had too many!

I've been echoing this all season even pre-season. Yet again we leave ourselves with a mountainous task of scoring 40 points more or less due to a chocolate defensive line. I believe our bench has to be shown the door with the exception of Lannon, Wood, and Bibby etc...

Krasniqi, Both Walnuts, Forster, Joseph, Tomkins, Sarsfield, and Hauraki can all move on if we're after climbing into the midtable territory.. These players don't pack enough punch coming off the bench leaving us vulnerable due to their frailties in going forward and especially in their defensive endeavours. We inevitably need to replace the substituted player with an equal standard player coming off the bench.

And what an absolute waste of money loaning the likes of Haggerty , if he's rusting away in the stands, when we're at crisis point at Prop.

Agree with most of this, those aren't players who are going to set the world alight. But, this was always going to be a season of consolidation we couldn't change everything in one pre season. Frustrating as it is, we are actually doing better than I think most thought we would.

Upgrade a few of those mentioned above and top 8 would be the least of our expectations

Got to say that I agree with you on this one, Stan.

I'm not seeing enough progress from bench players to warrant anything next year. We're not far off being a really decent side. Maybe three or four decent recruits in key areas. Without the points deduction we would still be sitting pretty in the top eight. Our defence really needs tightening which is easier said than done. Need to make sure we finish ninth at this stage.

Particularly disappointed with Weller who is only 10% of the player he was. No sentiment must be shown and I agree with all said above.

I'm guessing you're exaggerating a little here. Weller was a penalty machine at Cas as well but he was good in both attack and defence.

Obviously I don't see as many Salford games as other posters on here but I'm surprised at the negative comments regarding Logan. He's always struck me as being very dependable without being spectacular.

Yes I agree there's a number of players not up to the standard and built on promising performances last season to give us that strength in depth.
But does any not think the points reduction has had a big affect on enthusiasm, yes we have to perform in the 8s but it surely must have had an impact?

The Sheens factor initially changed the dynamics of how we played and I'm certainly not the one to question him as he's one of the games great masters.
Going forward at times it's been a pleasure to watch but the defensive frailties wouldn't be accepted in the NRL, so it's difficult to see why we don't appear to have any structure or cohesion in this crucial area.

I'd keep Walne and Krasniqi, both still young and have time on their side. Granted at the moment neither should be first choice or starting, but still got enough to warrant a squad place and maintain competition.

I don't know what Watto see's in Phil Joseph, I thought he would be used as emergency cover at best but it appears not. Tomkins is a liability and the sooner his one year deal runs out the better. I'll be very surprised if he gets a gig at another Super League team, Championship level at best.

We need to be careful not to overreact after two disappointing performances against Castleford and Saints. Prior to that we were doing ok. Saints was disappointing because they were there for the taking and our own ill-discipline, lack of composure and unforced errors ruined it for us.

You lot think Salford are poop you wanna be a Widnes fan......I'm dreading Saturday you'll smash us out of the park.

Widnes have had a good record against us head to head especially in Magic WK , bound to be a points fest . so it's down to who can defend ' less worse ' .
with MK on his RFL ' charm offensive' that won't help with impartiality .
