| It seems that consistency in punishment doesn't exist at the RFL, after MCB has been sidelined for 8-12 weeks and needs surgery on the leg injury caused by Brough on Monday.
Link here
It seems to me that if we are not going to outlaw the tackling to the lower leg in multiple tackles, we at least have to be consistent with the punishment when it happens. I think Brough can count himself extremely lucky not to be facing a lengthy ban, because it seems to be luck that determines punishment of these incidents at the moment. Players are getting injured and other players are not facing the consequences of their actions all over SL. I think all that most fans want is consistency, and to me, it's not happening.

Have you seen the tackle Mario?
Are you saying that way that the penalties that are handed out by the disciplinary panel are always consistent?
Am I being positive, negative or neutral?

| With regards to the tackle I don't think it is quite as bad as Chases tackle but very close and like everyone else am shocked Brough hasn't been banned at least one game.

| I think it appears to be that the punishment is related to the club wronged. A Wakefield player received a two match ban for what appeared to a most innocuous tackle but it was against St Helens so he received a ban upheld on appeal.
I have seen more serious incidents against us without any further action and I regret that Salford also falls into the same category after seeing the incident.

So very true as this seems to be the only consistent piece of work the RFL is capable of! Punish Salford & Wakefield as we don't care about them. I remember the first game last year when Benny Westwood landed a punch on a Salford player, no action taken because he was to play in the world club challenge the following week.
I was at Huddersfield & I find the tackle made by Brough horrendous, he was clearly frustrated & clearly the tackle had been made, this is why the rugby league will never be respected within the games, talk about old boys network.

| Best thing to do is introduce the rule that a player joining the tackle cannot make contact below the knee.

| It's ridiculous that the RFL consider themselves as medical professionals, in that their assessment of the tackle was OK because it hit the back of the knee which is consistent with natural movement. Whilst all tackles which result in an injury shouldn't be penalised (I accept some are accidental) I have watched the Brough incident again and again and it is quite clearly an attack to the knees.
Given the bans which have been handed out so far this season, it's an easy 2-4 game ban.
Whilst Mason Caton-Brown is out for 8-12 weeks, Danny Brough can continue making such challenges because according to the RFL they are OK.

More than two in the tackle is fine, it's the second or third man in making contact below the knee of the ball carrier that is dangerous.
