| I have just read Marwan's latest MEN weekly column, he is basically saying that his future investment in the club will on youth and our academy system. This got me thinking as to where Forever Reds is these days and whether it's still active? Forgive me ignorance if it is, I just haven't read anything regarding them in a while.
Whilst it's great to hear Marwan talking about investment in our academy system, I would like to see us as a club investing in the likes of Eccles & Salford Juniors, Langworthy, Folly and Cadishead. The facilities are all of these clubs are generally poor and by that I do not intend to upset those individuals who spend countless time doing their best for their clubs and the kids who play there. It be great to consult with each of these clubs, understand what areas their facilities need improving in and picking each one at random, begin the drive for fundraising in conjunction with each club. If the relevant sporting bodies were consulted with, match funding could be achieved as could possible contributions from Salford Council and local businesses.
If Forever Reds is still going, it may be something worth considering becoming involved in too.
Just a thought, but rather than us going cherry picking players from outside of Salford that the likes of Wigan, Saints and Warrington don't want, perhaps we need to focus more on bringing through the next Watkins, Hansen or Morley from within the City.

Forever Reds are still around, although we have not been active for a while due to various reasons.
If Marwan would like our input we are available, as it is in Forever Reds constitution through Supporters Direct to help the Salford Academy & the Salford Amatuer R.L. catchment area.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try

| Maybe a meeting between Marwan and FR would be a good idea? FR could ask Marwan what sort of help and support he would like with regards to developing the academy and local amateur clubs. This would show Marwan that the fans are willing to help him to improve the academy and grass roots rugby in the area.
I know Marwan is probably the sort of man that wants to do it all himself and hog the limelight, but surely FR and the club can work together in some way? Whether that be financial support for the academy from FR or sponsorship of the local amateur clubs, in the way of new kits, training equipment etc I don't know. Maybe Marwan might be glad of some financial help given the amount of money he has wasted in the last couple of years.

| Iv'e just read Marwans story M.E.N as well. If he wants answers regarding Fridays low attendance
1) It was on TV
2) Road closures gridlocked the roads, people probably turned round and went home, because it was on TV
3) The weather was foul, wouldn't make for a good game
4) The team we are putting out does not inspire believe in a win
5) We are not winning games consistently
6) Location of Stadium
I went to the game, and thought the lads put in a very good defensive display, but I don't think we would of scored if we were still playing to
today
Hope Marwan and Vickers read the turkey

AVE IT: Very good post, I was wondering myself what had happened to the Forever reds, clearly at Barton we have lost our identity, involving forever reds not only activates & engages the fans it also shows there is still real passion with supporter groups still within the club.
Since Marwan took control of the club, following initial optimum about involvement of fans on the board we appear to be further than ever from some form of real meaningful participation with the club.

| I agree with Ave It, I think a meeting between Forever Reds and Marwan would be a great idea initially.
It would be great to see the focus change in Salford Amateur RL too, with the kids team being the main focal point of the club. At the moment, it's usually the open age teams that have better kits, training gear, training facilities etc when in reality it should be the U8's through to U16's who are the most important teams in the club.
