I'm not really au fait with the rules but can't he submit an early guilty plea,and receive no ban,on the first occasion?

I don’t think so. If you have committed a grade A–C offence and have an unblemished record in the last twelve months, you can submit an early guilty plea. It basically means you don’t need to traipse up to Red Hall to receive your punishment. The recommended ban is still 2–3 matches; perhaps 2 with the early guilty plea. |

The underlined part is correct. EGP knocks 1 match off the maximum ban for the offense. |

Saying that, I would be surprised if Hood is actually fit - was suffering with a knee injury at the Wakefield and gave no indication of when he would be back.
