Marwan has just announced on twitter we'll be getting a new shop in the lowry outlet in January, all merchandise and tickets can be bought from there.

Had a chat with someone at the club the other day and asked the question about the shop, was told they are still in negotiations so I'd doubt even if they got the go ahead you could stock and open in time.

Deffo end of January, and apparently it's going to be sorted in house.

Plus it's not hard to put a sign up outside a vacant shop, but rails up and stock clothes what would it take? About two days.

I guess it depends how professional you want it too look, decent signage and a well thought out interior are very important.

Throw it together and it looks amateurish and as a result makes the club look likewise.

Was in the Lowry yesterday, lots and lots of empty shops. I did not notice any work going on in/on any of them

From reading the interview with Martin Vickers in the latest Forty-20 he talks of Under Armour being supportive of the shop. It would make a lot of sense if the store was to be joilntly stocked and branded with Under Armour. One benfit would be that it would give a wider range in the store (and prevent it from just being racks of the same handful of items), and secondly, the UA brand would bring people into the store for general sports goods, and that would help raise awareness of the club.

The new merchandise announcement reminded me about this. Any action in the Mall?
