|
| Squad's up kids:
Matty Ashurst

Josh Griffin
Harrison Hansen
Greg Johnson
Tommy Lee
Kevin Locke
Francis Meli
Adrian Morley
Tony Puletua
Steve Rapira
Junior Sa’u
Logan Tomkins
Jordan Walne
Jason Walton
A bit short in props I think, so we're going to end up with second rowers in the front row again. Still, it worked last week.

| I’d like to see us go with;
Locke
Griffin
Caton-Brown
Sa’u
Greg Johnson
Chase
Fages
Griffin
Lee
Puletua
Hansen
Ashurst
J.Walne
Replacements;
Walton
Morley
Rapira
Evalds
Evalds on the bench as utility cover, with Locke coming back from a groin strain covers needed, he can also cover anywhere along the backline including the halves. I think we’ll see Walne rotating at prop too. The sooner Tasi is back the better, we’re missing some real grunt up the middle of the park.

Can't really argue with that. The team picks itself at the moment.
On a side note, watched MoiMoi this morning against Souths and he's still playing well. His play style is right up Harris's street too of being hard and physical.

| Still unsure on Moi Moi. It all depends on whether Mozza does another year, we cant have two 35+ year old props.

| Agreed Morley and Moimoi might be carrying too much age in the front row, but that's all just hearsay.
Hasn't Rapira played prop for NZ?, looks too have the sort of physicality for a prop anyway.

Very unsure about Moi Moi. For me, one of the problems with signing players at the end of their career - no matter how good they are - is that you're forced back on to the market a year or two later to look for replacements. One of the reasons I couldn't see much sense in the Morley signing is that it was always likely that we'd lose Shannan McP this year when he comes to the end of his non-fed exemption period. So, if Morley just does his one year, we end up on the market for two props. If Morley stays on, it just defers the problem until next year as I suspect Tony Puletua will retire then. If Morley retires and we replace him with Moi Moi, we'll likely have the same problem.
I think we need to be looking at younger players. But not in a Jimmy Savile way.

| No Greg Eden as hes been a naughty boy.
If we win we move up 2 spots and we still have an outside chance of the 8 but could have done with Wire winning last night. Would be a great finale if it came down to the Widnes match at home in September. Marketing dream maybe.
