I recently e-mailed all Super League and Championship clubs, explaining that I am running the Sheffield Half Marathon in April, and am raising money on behalf of the Steve Prescott Foundation. I asked for anything that could help with my fund-raising (donations, a mention for my Just Giving page in their match day programme, etc). I’m aware that many clubs have policies whereby they only donate to their own charities, but figured I had nothing to lose.

Other than a polite ‘sorry we can’t help’ from Widnes I haven't heard a dicky-bird from anyone else. Until yesterday.

Thanks very much to my club, Salford Red Devils, for donating a gift for me to auction off.

So, I am welcoming bids for a ‘Matchday Experience Pack’ that entitles the owner to a Family Ticket (2 adults plus 2 children) to ANY Super League fixture at the AJ Bell Stadium in 2014.

I’m going to keep the auction open until midnight Friday 4th April. Genuine bids only please. I'll update the progress on here (without naming names). I will put the winning bid on my Just Giving page so it's all above board. I’m putting a reserve of £15 on the prize as I don’t want to just give it away and it’s all for such a good cause. That is a great cause Derek, good luck and well done Salford. Maybe leave the foil wrapped courgette at home for the run though Derek, may hinder performance

It does not stipulate which stand it is for. It is a certificate and it states you can simply turn up with the certificate on matchday and exchange it for your valid family ticket.

North West Counties 13-15s are hosting Wars of the Roses matches on Easter Sunday with the proceeds being donated to the Steve Prescott Foundation.

The matches will be played at Golborne Parkside SCC.

The under 13s game between Blackbrook Royals and Siddal is kicking off at 12 noon.

This is followed at 2pm by the Under 15s between Thatto Heath Crusaders and Brighouse Rangers.

Admission on the gate is £3 for adults and £1 for children.
