Hello all! New to the board!
Just a quick one really, coming to the game Sunday. Not been to the new ground, have decided to purchase the 3 game ticket.
Was wondering what people's thoughts on pre match drinking are, is there a bar in the ground to go to? I'm bringing my dad who has bad legs so doesn't really want to be walking everywhere, but seeing as tho it's my birthday we fancied a few pints before hand. Any suggestions??

the nearest bar is st mikes or the airport both have a 10/15 min walk tho , if his legs are bad the fans bar is the best bet but a bit more pricier than st mikes tho .

If walking is out of the question then the only real option is the Fans Bar on the front of the west stand. Otherwise there's the bar over at the Aerodrome or it's a 15ish minute walk to the Unicorn/St Mikes/The Grapes/Eccles ARLFC in Peel Green. Alternatively, drink in Eccles and get a cab/bus straight to the ground (but be prepared for it to take longer than you'd expect). |

The Fans bar at the stadium should be ideal for your Dad. It can get quite busy 40 minutes or so before KO and I think with a large crowd anticipated it could be jam packed. However, they usually have entertainment in the form of live bands so I think you will enjoy it.

Thanks for the responses guys, so is the fans bar open from an early time? Maybe a couple of hours before KO?

Yes it is mate. you will be able to get a few quiet ones if that's your fancy before it starts getting busy.
