| Reading the MEN. Barker has stated that Salford have given the 6 shirt to Rangi Chase, 12 to Gareth Hock, 8 to Adrian Morley. does not mention anyone else
Has anyone out there got any further news ?

Well, the names on the pigeon holes in the players' room were in what I would assume to be squad number order. I'm sure the club will announce it in good time, so I'm not going to blurt it out here. I'll just say there were a couple of surprises on there (one player not in the 17 who I thought would have been and one player in who some - although not necessarily me - thought wouldn't have been).
The omission from the 17 makes me wonder if the sequence really did reflect the squad, which is why I'll keep it to myself for now.

| I'm going to hazard a guess that te surprise omission from the 17 could be Griffin? Just a hunch. I hope if it is him it's not an indication that he's surplus to requirements as I think he's a top prop. Maybe Adam Walne the surprise inclusion??

No and no.
I'm starting to feel this is going to turn into a childish "I know something you don't know" thing, which wasn't my intention. I just don't want to give the squad numbers away if it means ruining any announcement the club has planned.
Anyway, the numbers may still not be finalised since we appear to be hoping to sign player H from club W. I'd imagine player H would get squad number E.

Are we numbering the shirts in hexadecimal now?

Wasn't there a union side who, until relatively recently, used letters rather than numbers on their shirts? I'm sure there was because I used to wonder if they would ever spell out "KNOB" or something like that at a line-out.

| Leicester RU used letters , not numbers , also Bristol & Harlequins?
Bizzarely the lettering systems between clubs were different ,
I think they standardised when RU adopted a club league structure.
rlRU Numbering systemsrl
to be Honest since SL clubs have adopted squad numbering. RL isn't much clearer

| Are all the players in training now? Didn't catch them on Sunday but was watching them today and it was hard to tell who was there but think I spotted Sa'u but not Tasi, Rapari or Mullaney.

| Sa'u def isn't here yet or Tasi. Pretty sure none of the new overseas signings have landed yet. All awaiting final Visa's while Sa'u is having a break back home after World Cup b4 coming over. All here for Christmas I believe.

Never quite understand the logic of giving them longer to get here and join their new team, surely when your coming in from O/S you need longer to adjust to life in your new surroundings and in /Junior Su'as case the festive pasty at Greggs would go down a treat

When I was at university in Bristol in the 1970s I would occasionally go to watch the Bristol RU team. The most entertaining part about watching was a game we played making anagrams out of all the players letters we could see at the time. Not always easy, as A and E spent most of the game buried in a pile of bodies in the rucks. Much more fun than the rugby on offer, though I have to admit I was spoiled at the time after watching a great Salford team.
