He has been training so one would assume that he will be included in the squad or maybe loaned out again.

Hopefully he's loaned out permanently.

Stuart Howarth was one of the players who attended the quiz evening .
Crossed my mind we should be backing all the players in the squad for the new season.
Clean slate and all that.

Odd you mention him as I saw the squad training this morning and noticed him and had to admit had forgotten all about him.

If he is to stay then hopefully a season working with Kerian Cunningham has improved him! He also so have a couple of decent performances while sky were covering a few games.

IMO he had ample opportunity to prove himself and he simply didnt. For some reason Vievers rated him but as soon as he left Howarth was out on his ear. A Saints fan i know made it very clear to me that he thought he was never superleague quality having watched him last season.
I think its time we moved on and went with Tommy Lee, Gaz Owen and Adam Files (who was nominated for Championship one young player of the year last season)

Judging by Wikipedia the squad numbers have him down as number 9 though that depends on wether you believe Wikipedia as a reliable source.

Seeing as the same page also lists Marc Sneyd as #22 I wouldn't put much faith in it.

Squad numbers are still being finalised & will be released shortly. Suspect they may be waiting for 1 or 2 more signings.

Howarth is a better hooker than Tommy Lee.

Howarth will never be a hooker aslong as I've got a hole in my ar*e. I think he could make a decent loose, but definitely not a hooker.

If that's the case then i must be a better hooker than both, might ask the Doc for a contract. Howarth was awful for us first time around truly awful yet the old coaching regime seemed to see something in him that no one else could.

More than happy for him to prove me wrong, I'm all for giving him a second chance, however i don't think he's good enough.

I've watched both come through from being 16 year olds. Tommy Lee was an outstanding scrum half but bulked up to much. Howarth is a far better hooker.
