Souths, Manly and Melbourne apparently want Lee Jewitt;

I'd like to see us try and keep him, but if he does go then good luck to him. It must be every players dream to test themselves against the best.

Good luck to him
If he can get a go with an NRL side , why not .
He may look a different proposition interchange bench prop to an NRL Pack.
Cooper & Mossop are not a million times better than Jewitt

Would be good to keep him. He's been loyal through some bad times. If he goes i think the Aussie game will suit his style of play

I can see why the club would let him go presently as his performances haven't been ground breaking, but with props they tend to mature with age and I can see Jewitt being another one of those. Could be making a big mistake letting him go.

Jewitt's game would improve a lot if he didn't do that silly side step/dance when driving the ball in. It takes all the momentum out of the drive.

It depends on the situation, the shuffling of feet can put them in a position where they don't get smashed so easy and also get a quick play of the ball.

Now, I'm going to upset the Mozzerphiles here, but it's OK because I don't care. I really can't see the sense in releasing (if that's what happens) a young, aggressive prop whose best days are ahead of him, and bringing in an injury prone ex-international whose best days are behind him.

Doesn't make the most sense to bring in a big name roll model prop and let a good young prop go. Even less sense to let him go and renew the contract of a prop who's nothing short of injury prone in McPherson.

I don't consider myself a Mozzerphile but I am prepared to reply by firstly suggesting that I would doubt very much that Jewitt will enjoy the same success and acclaim that Adrian Morley achieved in the NRL.
Morley has sustained a number of injuries but it says a great deal about his physical and mental strength, and love for rugby league, that he has overcome those injuries and achieved the success he has achieved.( It seems to me a whole host of players go out of their way to thank Adrian Morley - club and international players - and they seem to ensure that this praise and gratitude is put into print.)
I think the signing of Morley is not just for 'team' purposes for 2014 but for the even more important task of building the 'club' for the future years.
I would have to add that the sight of Adrian Morley in the dressing shed is probably more inspirational to teammates, and more intimidating to the opposition, than the presence of Jewitt given the difference in experience and success between the two at this time.Having such a respected figure around the club/at the club is a magnificent coup.
The argument that the 'best days are behind him' could also be addressed to the individual players at Leeds. Will any of that squad, whatever age or experience of injuries,as of now,go on to win 5 Grand Finals ? Of course not,but their supporters won't be suggesting they shouldn't be playing,or be signed, for 2014.
I wish both Jewitt and Morley a successful 2014 and hope they achieve more than they have done,or will do,this year.

I agree it does depend on the situation but he does it every time so basically becomes none effective. He should be a lot better than he is even at a young age for a prop. We've had more go forward with the Walne brothers in the pack than Jewitt. Granted I'd still prefer him to stay but I won't lose any sleep if he doesn't.
Also I'd prefer him to stay than have McPherson.

Footwork in the front row is becoming more and more common, most likely coming over from the NRL where they thrive on quick plays of the ball.

Footwork on impact is a massive part of a prop forwards game these days. Taught from a young age. The days of Barrie Mc etc are long gone.

If Brian Noble is planning to replace Jewitt, with someone better, then that will do for me
