| Given that the club seems to be in rude financial health and, one would assume, no longer relies on handouts from fans to purchase basic equipment etc, perhaps FR could take a leaf out of Sale Sharks Supporters Club's book and direct its focus elsewhere.
SSSC actually organises and heavily subsidises coach travel to away matches for Sharks fans. Is this something FR could potentially emulate?
Looking at the cost of attending away matches (£20 on club coach, £20-25 for tickets + refreshments etc) it's no wonder that our away support is absolutely woeful.
Is this an area where FR could make a positive intervention?
Just an honest question.

Honest answer. I doubt it. As an industrial and provident society the Trust can only spend money on things that are in the society's aims. I'm not sure that subsidising people to go to away games would meet those aims.

| A little bit of a swerve but can anyone tell what happened with the money that was raised by the fans before the Doc took over? There was a decent sum so hope it went onto something worthwhile.
You'd hope that maybe if there's money that going towards helping the new French kid was an option.

| The Doc is complaining about not being able to spend enough money; ergo there's no way that any kind of 'charitable' group should be subsidising the club's day to day operation.
If FR has a war chest it would be better spent on community initiatives.

Warrington are pretty flush but have this going on - www.squadbuilder.co.uk/sqbwhat.asp (which does also clearly include community initiatives).
As for the other questions on this thread. FR will be hosting an open fans meeting with Dave Matthews in a few weeks - details to be finalised. Hopefully this can also will lead into discussions about the fans can help the club/academy/etc.
As Company Secretary I can't answer re the "pre-takeover" fundraising as that was not official Forever Reds business.
