Heard at the game last night that lee as signed for Leeds next season but I haven't seen this anywhere was just wondering if anyone on here know anything about this I would of thought yours would of put a good offer to him

I was told a couple weeks back the Leeds had offered him a deal but he was stopping with us and he would be our permanent full back next season

Would be happy to sign him on a full time deal, for me he needs to be given a chance at stand off.

FULL-BACK? I hope not! That is definitely not his best position.

I noticed something you posted on another clubs forum on 30th May regarding Gaskell,in which you mentioned other players,which shocked moi,and I'm usually shockproof !
I await the next one with interest as todays is contrary to what I have heard.

Lee is a cracking footballer. His kicking in the first half was sublime at times.

He's not a fullback though and probably never will be. Nobby needs to bite the bullet and give him a chance at six.

But if he is away to Leeds next season then why bother?

If he's staying, then surely it must be as a half-back not as a full back, in which case I agree with you.

The thing is how many half backs do we need? Sneyd and Fages are both under contract as are McGoldrick and Foran (unfortunatley) who can play there. IF rumours are right are right, and Chase and/or Dobson are coming, do we need another half back? I'd rather see McGoldrick or Foran go, as Gaskell looks the better player, but circumstances may not be right for him to stay. This might explain why he is being given a shot at fullback.

As a Saints fan I am a bit shocked. I cant see Leeds signing a guy who struggles with the defensive side of the game. On Friday it was the usual Gaskell for me the pretty bits kicking at every opportunity and draw and give yeah he is ok but he is never a good player.

He has been played out of position for us, but even so he looks very average. Needs sending back to saints at end of season of wherever. Not what we're looking for IMHO
