| I actually feel a little ashamed of myself in the cold light of day but I actually wanted (after his deliberate head high tackle last night) serious harm to come to him. The fact that the ref in my eyes bottled it and only placed this on report shows a problem in our game, he without a shadow of doubt should have been sent off immediately and by not doing so the ref risked influencing the outcome of the game in a negative way.

| Thought it should have been a red at the time.
Watched it back last night and still thought it should have been a red.
Some people were saying he was wrong footed but you can't jump into a tackle like that with your arm swinging that high. It wasn't a case of him sticking out an arm in a last gasp attempt to make the tackle. It was extremely reckless and he should have gone. It's a good thing Williams got back up and part of me thinks that he would have been shown the red if he had been injured. It shouldn't take someone being injured for someone to be sent off for a tackle like that though,

| definate red card also right in front of the linesman how can neither of them see that!? Very weak referee, worst in superleague.

| I watched the match on Sky, and have to say that the whole game was treated as somewhat of a joke. We are well aware that these were the two bottom sides in the table, but I'm not sure that the commentators laughing at the players is the right approach.
Every try scored was not positive attack, but woeful defence (unless Chase was involved, in which case it was sensational play).
The fact is that there are not enough quality players in Super League, but Salford do have some young players who have potential. Perhaps Eddie and Stevo could have highlighted that in between their fits of giggles.
Any neutral watching that TV show would have been convinced not to watch us again - thanks boys.

| Have to agree with SRLFC JK, what a pair of condescending pricks Eddie and Stevo are, they appeared to belittle everything about the game except Darling Rangi, I mean how can a close game with lots of tries be anything but crap. Unless of course it was the game on Saturday, another high scoring close game littered with errors, but did that get dissed, not at all. Widnes and Wakefield above ridicule then it seems.

Where does good attack end and poor defence start? There's a thread on the VT moaning about poor defence, poor attendance, poor this, poor that. The usual. Aside from the Andrew Dixon try where the Castleford defence made a balls of clearing a loose ball from over their try line, which tries were absolutely 100% down to poor defending? Even then credit to Sneyd and Fages for the kicks that put Castleford in that position. How many times did Rangi Chase create gaps in the Salford (and his own) defence with his elusive running and clever passing? How many tries did his skills create (for both teams)? None. It was all down to poor defence.
Are other sports like this? I've seen some absolutely dire games of Rugby Union on TV, and football is as entertaining as listening to fishing on the radio, but the commentators tend to focus on the positives and the after match discussions on the message boards rarely seem to focus so absolutely on every negative aspect of the game. What is it about the Rugby League fraternity that makes us so willing to slip on the Rugby League Goggles and have a fecking good moan? Perhaps it's because we're nuthen, and us nuthen folk like us flat caps and misery. By 'eck.

| Give me that game last night than a boring 8-6 defence fest any day. I took 5 new fans down last night and they loved the end to end "action".

| We can only play to our strengths. If we compare this to football, there are lots of sides that are known for attacking rather than defensive play - you score 3 and we'll score 4 type of thing. Everyone loves it.
I wonder if the Sky boys would rather we beef up our defence and use spoiling tactics, and let them really earn their money commentating on an 8 - 6 game littered with penalties?
We know that it will take years for us to become a top side, but in the meantime, bring on the games like last night and the one v Hudds, and I will continue to forgive the players a multitude of defensive sins.

| You have to think that if the Doc had any of his racing friends there for the Ladies Day then they would have loved the action, OK it might not have been the best game technically and certain players failings were very apparent but for sheer entertainment value you'd struggle to find a better spectacle.

| What gets me is McRae spouting off about how the top teams will put 50 or 60 against teams like us and Cas and we will not be able to score as many points against them. Well wake up McRae Hull beat us by 6 so I guess you accept your club is not one of the top teams.

| Our defence in the last 10 minutes was very good too, we scrambled really well, which was something the Sky team failed to praise.

| Absolutely disgusted by Skys commentary. Condescending p****s. I think they forgot we had no pre-season, no team, no club until 2 days before the season started, so I think we are doing pretty good so far. There will be a few clubs in that position come the end of the season. I wonder how Eddie and Stevo handle them. Also how Tansey wasn't sent off is beyond me ( Meli was same tackle ) yet the sky team ignored the incident after the match.

| Tansey's been charged with a Grade A offence meaning he most likely won't get a ban.
Tackle was reckless rather than careless IMO, should have sat out for 1 game at least.
