Aye you can see work going on between the stadium and the motorway bridge, plus in the triangle of the Barton Stretch and the two roads in.

The work currently going on in the triangle is an archaeological dig by Salford Uni. That plot is being marketed for retail/leisure use.

Ahh right, I didn't know about that. It's all going to look completely different round there though over the next 5-10 years or so, you won't be able to recognise it. There's talk of the council building houses on the golf course too.

Is all this work being done to the time scale that was first envisaged or has this all been brought forward?

The one thing I do always shake my head at is that the powers that be don't see that there is a quick and easy temporary solution to a great deal of the congestion and that is to simply put in some temporary lights at the M63/A57 junction, the current issues are always exasperated by the mele on the roundabout with cars jockeying for position to join the A57. Hell even the old fashioned cops waving people through would be better than nothing.

Going off the leaflet, they will be putting traffic lights the motorway junction, from May 2013 to January 2014.
