I feel like its one bad news story after another, just reading the Salford Star (and I know people don't like it) but this story they say is an exclusive I certianly haven't heard of it before, its an interesting read on about the foundation propping the club up in the past with loans.

Bloody hell can't we have some good news like signing Jon Thurston

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |

| That sounds to me like they are suggesting the club has been siphoning off the charities funds in a 'legal' way by charging it. It certainly sounds questionable if true.

Doubt it as the PCC is concerned with newspapers isn't it?

Exactly. Rather than actively promoting all the good work the foundation does and can do to help others in the local community, they chose to use it instead as a means of putting the boot in when the club is already hurting.
The Salford Star in my opinion is not acting on behalf of the people in the community. I view it more as a political weapon to attack and damage the labour council’s reputation at every opportunity. The fact the council have been supportive of the club makes Salford Reds a target.

| Not knowing the pedigree of the Salford Star, I would have thought there are just two questions to be asked:
1) Is it factually correct?
2) If so has there been wrongdoing?

icons1949_files/4193-180guyguyme2003-msnicons.gif The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

Agreed and I also know nothing of this publication, so why would they just print a load of lies leaving themselves wide open, or am I just being naive ?

| In relation to the above 2 posts, I do read the Star as it keeps me up to date with the community.
I'm not big on the law but if the Star or any other media organisation printed something that wasn't true they would be sued. You only have to look at Frankie Boyle suing the Daily Mirror this week.
