| Was just wondering if anybody can confirm just how much it is to watch the game on Sunday?
Also is it just the mainstand that is open for this game?

| It will be the last match in a Salford shirt for many of the youngsters who have performed brilliantly this year. No celebration or accolades. Just we're not going to renew your contract because we've scrapped U20s and we're going to have U16s and U19s only.
They may perform brilliantly in the hope that somebody out there does want them. Or they may be totally hacked off.
As the only performing team at SCR this season, they still deserve support. And let's hope that some team sees their value.
How any club, in any sport, can believe that a lad of 18/19 has to achieve SL level or be discarded, amazes me for its crass stupidity.
So far, I can't tell if this is SCR policy or that of the RFL. Either way, they need their bumps feeling!

| Obviously the RFL decide what leagues will be played. How can Salford be held accountable is beyond me!

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try

If the RFL are scrapping the u20's and 18s and having an U19's and U16's how an earth can players being released be blamed on Salford? This is down to the RFL. Jesus thats the first time in a long I've actually defended the club, shoot me now!!!

| I fear the worst for Sunday after reading other posts.....cant see our lads being up for it, or even turning up if its true that the majority of our U20's have been told they wont be at the club next year.
Why tell them the week before this big game?

Where have you got this from? There is a Championship u23s but as far as I'm aware there are no confirmed plans for Super League clubs running an u23 comp.

| and in another piece of brilliance from the RFL Bradford can stay in Super League, and don't have to pay back the £1.5m owed to creditors from the old club, or the £600k given to the Bradford in administration by the RFL to keep them going and not have to sell any players. So the new Bradford can carry on with no debt and build for next season, perhaps we can now go for the full cap and if we do go bust the RFL will pay for us, 6 points deduction means nothing really.

The RFL are not doing the scrapping, the SL clubs, led by the less wealthy ones, have come to this conclusion. The idea is that they will capitalise on their close links with Championship clubs. The trouble is, while many SL clubs have forged those links, (Warrington with Swinton, Hull with Whitehaven) SCR don't seem to have one.
And I take it that you would have told the lads of their intended severance just three days before the biggest match of their careers to date?
Neither the RFLl nor the clubs have announced their intentions for next year or how it is supposed to work, so being canned will have come as a shock to many of these lads, particularly those who may have read big raps about themselves on this forum! Like Morris and Whitehead.

[sizeI must apologise for missing the Presentation Night - but there is method in my madness[/size
As I understand it the decision has been made by the RFL and - Mike Rush at Saints - and DP at Featherstone and Mark Aston at Sheffield - are certainly against the decision. It seems there will just be Scholarship for Under 16 and Academy Under 19 and Under 20 abolished.
It came about because some considered the games to be uncompetitive.More players will be released and more will be on the market.Championship clubs dual reg.with Super League clubs will allow them to field 6 players.
Hull,I think have aligned with York.Hunslet with Leeds.Championship supporters aren't happy to be a feeder club.
As the RFL are as changeable as the weather I don't know how long this system will last.
It has been made public for several weeks and written about in the rugby league press.
