The chairman is quoted as saying "we are embarking on another five year plan" and that we will do things differently.
I would like him to explain,in his opinion where we have been going wrong in the last five years.
Whilst talking with friends at the game held at Leigh, about the latest uttering's,one person said do you remember the
night in the social club" when we signed Richard Webster"and we were told in another five years we will spending
as much as Wigan? what we thought we should be doing is keeping quite and getting the players that the coach
requires want's.
Because coming out with statement's and plans, that don't materialise, give people and the media the bullets to
fire back by simply saying we have heard it all before.Lets hope we can get investment over the winter, but more
importantly someone to come in to the club who is independent of the past,to use that investment wisely.
The chairman says we have made mistakes, and have to do better, the question is can the present regime do any
better. It is to be hoped so or Salford R.L.F.C.will be finished, and that's what we don't want.
With Parish Patten and possibly Moon back in Australia, singing are praises what kind of future additions
can we expect, and lastly it was my first visit to Leigh's new stadium,I was impressed. How does it compare with
Barton.

Surprised no one has mentioned how slow the car park was to clear, and even more surprised they staged an international there last year with a 10k crowd when they struggled to clear a 2k attendance.

Most if not all organizations have 5yr plans or similar and regularly update them.
When we signed Richard Webster it was then as now dependent on the crowds that we were hoping to achieve and I know several fans at the time who were not happy with him signing for the club others thought he was great,a little like the present day.
We have people in the media and some supporters who are always looking for the bullets and others who will pull the trigger.
With regards the present regime doing any better can you explain exactly who you mean and which of the current regime are you alluding to as you appear to be on good terms with some members of that regime?
With regards Matt Parish, despite being taken in by the man on a couple of occasions myself, off what I have heard, only rumours and hearsay mind you from a variety of quarters, we are better without the man.
Luke Patten on the field, I have liked what I have seen, although I bet that he never had to defend in Australia as he has had to here, he has in my opinion let himself down with his whinging ,sorry Twitter account and in my opinion he should never have agreed to be led by the nose by the MEN RL reporter.
Joel Moon has in my opinion been a first class acquisition and if it is true that he is genuinely homesick and actually goes home back to the NRL I don't have a problem if however he leaves us by breaking his contract and remains in Superleague he has gone down in my estimation.
Finally Leigh Sports Village which is a nice compact stadium with a good atmosphere set in an area that has developed markedly since it was built and I like it, I like our stadium better though as my West Stand seats offer a much better view of the match and its easier to get home despite the best efforts of our stadium company.

He has stated that the crowd-based model with which we moved to Barton is not working and so the directors paid for an in depth analysis which will be more based on marketing and is being input.
sources: several statements in the media and several comments in matchday programmes which you could have purchased at Barton

Thanks for taking me to task again.I think all the people who work for the club,do a very good job.
Although some times it seems with one hand tied behind there back, Also I am sure the chairman as done
his very best for the club.

| I am sick and tired of the pointless arrogance displayed by some of the posters on this forum. If you disagree with someone then fine express an opinion.
But to pick people up for errors is wrong. You don't know that person or if they have any issues.
To Scoot - when you correct people's posts make sure your work is correct.
To Font - Hope you feel better for trying to belittle someone.
As to what Lance Todd wrote, I liked Leigh's ground and found it to have a better atmosphere than Barton, which I think is to open.
I was in the club when Mr Wilkinson made his grand statement about competing with the big teams after he used the club's sponsorship money to buy the club back, a point I have made before, and one, which I read confirmed in the last programme from The Willows (Willows History section).
As to Matt Parish, it seems the only people who have a bad word to say about him are from within Salford, he was certainly welcomed with open arms at Manly, Jamie Lyon, Ricky Stuart and NSW.
With regard to Luke Patten, I can only say how I find, and I found him to be a decent guy who is passionate about his League, his articles in the MEN I agreed with - although he probably was to open from an employment perspective. I don't believe for one minute Joel Moon is homesick and think he just wants out, I actually think Patten's retirement & back injury would have possibly been postponed if the club had had a better season.
Lastly, my I apologise for anyerrors in my post, I unlike many posters on this site am human!

| A five years plan of the rlhead coach ?rl
Impressed by the words of a young man who had no right to be so considerate in his words as it appears he is leaving.A big well done to him and best wishes, from me,for his future.

Same here,Luke is a very articulate, well educated young man dedicated to his job as a professional sportsman who although clearly very disappointed with his release has acted in a very professional manner.
Good luck Luke in the future.

| I would have kept him: I know he seems to have lost his way a little but he is a perfect example of a young (still only 24) British forward with the best years ahead of him, bags of experience and a willingness to play for the club. I can't imagine he was costing us much, and from memory he picked up very few injuries. Our loss...

No disrespect intended to Adamson if true but I'd of thought about half that amount at the very most. If true his agent's in the wrong job he should be selling snow to eskimos!

| ' Another five Yr plan ' , I think the last plan was ' [iwe're spending money we don't have ' to build a squad that more people will pay to watch in the shiney new stadium [/i' and that will result in more income streams and business wanting to be involved with club and we'll all live happily ever after.
I don't know how far into the last - yr plan we were into before it was abandoned. there are not that many owners around who stick around for more than one.
I think the new plan is rather familiar one:- Live within our means.
re the comment on Adamson , I remember the debut and the try he scored and it is truely sad when a player like that leaves. I think it is a testimony to how hard we have had to cut our squad budget , Ashurst - Dixon if signed will be first choice , Nero has a year still to run and we have U20's lads moving up Mcpherson, can Prop or 2nd Row , Anderson has been a casualty too . too many utility forwards not enought backs now.
