Reading it, it seems sale could be the main tenants and that they now own the naming rights to the SCS, hope it isnt true or it is just RU muscling in again on a RL area.

| Sale are not the main tenants and do not have primacy of tenure
Sale bought the naming rights from the Stadium company (as Salford might have done).
Let's hope it's a sensible name.....

What do you think was the intention of your club moving from your Home in Sale to basically taking over Stockport County when that said club was on its knees? What do you think the intention of your club is now that you move into another area that as nothing to do with your club.Where next have your seedy club got their eyes on? Ibrox?

| County was not "on it's knees" when Brian Kennedy bought the Club and ground - a succession of appalling decisions made by a series of managers (OK managers brought in by Kennedy but the rot had set in when Elwood failed to retain Dave Jones) and shocking seasons on the pitch put paid to County as a footballing outfit. Kennedy then sold County to a supporters' trust who really ran it into the ground. Remarkable that Elwood gets off scot free considering the parts of the business he retained and then charged County to use.
I guess the intention of the Sale management is to play professional rugby union in Greater Manchester.......
Next step - 5 years time when the stadium complex at Eastlands is finished and they move into the small "sub-stadium" being built to host City reserves.

| Mike - don't be saying stuff like that. I know you mean well but it's gonna come across like you're on the wind up.
Salford fans are still obviously cautious at the minute. We're only 2 games into the ground and so we don't really need to be saying things that can basically come across like "we're only in this ground for 5 years while we continue world domination". - I don't know how tongue in cheek you were being there but there was nothing to suggest you were.
The whole City thing still annoys me to this day. That was just a rumour well before we moved into Salford. I don't recall any official source ever saying we were gonna move to COMS. I wouldn't want to be associated with that dump but still amazes me how people on our board think it's some great stadium in the centre of Manchester. Having been once (and never again - just a ground to tick off my list. Never will I watch City by choice again) it's a very below par stadium for a "big club" - facilities are shocking, the toilets are basically outside and it's actually a fair bit out of the centre. At least a lot more than people think it is. Heard people saying it's right near Piccadilly. Wouldn't fancy walking that, although I'm aware Ashburys is right near.
Diamond has said recently this is our home now and we want it to be for the next 100 years. We wouldn't have stuck our badge next to the Salford logo or made it such a big deal about a new ground if we were planning on just using it for a few years.
As for his comments about Stockport - he's spot on. But I'm not doing this again because as always somebody will have heard one thing, another person will have heard another.
For the record - if you ever go on the Stockport forum, when people are actually talking sense they admit they have no problem with Sale and that it's Brian Kennedy and Cheshire Sports where their problem lies with. Sure, the 2 go hand in hand and although I've already said I agree with Mike - my point being that Sale as a club and as fans have never ruined anything for anybody, no matter what may have been done in the views of others by our owners.
As for stadium naming rights, I don't think this has been mentioned on our forum. I personally would be disappointed and as much as you can think we're all trying to patronise and sweet talk you - as I've said before, most Sale fans want to work hand in hand. There's no problem with the Salford City Stadium as far as I can see. If anything it will be a sponsor name, I would imagine. I can't imagine it being called the "Small Greater Manchester Suburb Of Sale Stadium" any time soon if you're worried about us taking over the name. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it. MBNA Stadium is something I may have read on here recently.

What a remarkably ill-informed and one-sided view of events.

"But hey what do I know" ................. either nothing or everything but only put out the bit you want?
Oh .... I live a mile from a local school (therefore I know all the budget considerations for that school ... I must as I live near it) .... my son is a member of a golf club (I will ask him how that the finances of that club are run as he must know) and my next door neighbor works for for a Catholic charity (I must ask him about the secrets of the Vatican as he must know... he works for them!) ..... Priceless!
