Just seen this on living social daily deals website.
www.livingsocial.com, Manchester.
Salford City Reds
Adult and Child Ticket (£12), Two Adult Tickets (£14), or Two Adult and Two Child Tickets (£19) to the Reds Vs. Catalans Dragons on 1 June
Well done salford on offering a great deal to build up your fan base, following an excellent win against the giants on Sunday. You've got the new stadium, you are playing well, so follow your team.

| Just a thought about offers to new fans.
Over the magic weekend I saw loads of kids and a fair few adults wearing city tops. Im guessing these people (probably dont come to Salford) have an interest or are curious about RL, and as they bought tickets must have handed all their details to the RFL. So here is my question, have the RFL/Salford proactivly contacted these fans with offers etc? Strike while the iron is hot and all that.

they may not come from Salford, on another note, I was at Walkden High yesterday on Governor business and I sat through a number of assemblies as part of what we were doing. One of the visiting staff members who took one of the assemblies asked the audience of 240 year 8 pupils who supported Salford City Reds, I was sat at the back and counted the number of hands that went up, 7 out of 240. The visiter was from Wigan and a Wigan fan and when I spoke to her later she was quite shocked that so few kids suported their local team, she said in Wigan nearly all the hands would have gone up. Very worrying.

| I travelled in to town on Sunday from Walkden via the Bulls Head and there was a healthy number of Salford fans in the area and on the train. Your story is very worrying though BigPev. The lack of awareness and interest of our club by the majority of young people in our area is a massive concern and its no exaggeration to see the club have a massive task on their hands to make an impact in turning this round.
Re Fridays game there are various offers on from websites I have never heard of before. Full marks to the club for trying this method. Shame on the living social club there have only been 52 deals purchased so far

| The club are being very pro active as far as generating new fans this Friday anyway.
There is a charity day where I work and the Salford CR foundation has been chosen, the club have been incredibly generous with auction prizes and are sending players down to help on the day. They are offering discounts to employees and their familiys, makes a bit of a mockery of some peoples insitance that the club are anything other than a professional sporting entity.

Pev I work in Walkden (presently) and the only thing that would surprise me about the place is the people who live there actually realising that they live in Salford. As far as I can tell (worked there eight months now) they either associate themselves as Manchester or Bolton (Farnworth).
And as for Liccle Ulton
That is of co my take on the locals.

What do you expect from a school that doesn't even encourage kids to play the game.
When Dyl first started there ( year 1 for me as I'm old school lol) he went to the first training session for the school team. The school only allowed those good enough to be allowed to carry on training and be in the school team. All the others were told they couldn't attend training anymore.
After that he decided he didn't want to play anymore. He went from being really excited to have a chance to play to being totally dejected. When I was at school it didn't matter how good you were you were still allowed to train with the team so you had the chance to improve.
That kind of attitude will stop kids from wanting to play and watch rugby league.

After tonight I'd give him the keys to the city as honestly if he wasn't so innept we'd not have won. Sending 2 players to the bin like that was what won us the game and he for me should have got man of the match.
