| Wigan should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute!
The omission of so many key players today allowed Widnes to claim their first victory. I'm sure Widnes enjoyed their day immensely, but it makes an absolute mockery of the League standings if these type of team selections are allowed to continue.
What would Salford fans rather see........a victory over a weakened Wigan side or a beating from a full strength one?
For me, I would want us to play a full strength side every time and let our side give it our best shot.
Everyone remembers the who ha when Saints sent 'the reserves' to Bradford...............has the Rugby League learned nothing since then?

The shear arrogance of Wigan is what has annoyed me. Serves them ruddy right that they lost

| They should be fined for that team they put out.
It is taking the pi$$ out of the supporters who paid money to watch.
I am sure Widnes fans are probably very happy that they won but the fact it was a virtual reserve team just makes a mockery of the league.
Will they get punished ?
We all know the answer to that

3596.jpg this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

| I don't agree! Wigan can do what they want as could any other team during the "regular" season. You get nothing for finishing top, you don't get relegated for finishing bottom! The whole system is a farce, so no point getting bothered about it. Ask Leeds fans!?

Agree those arrogant pie-munchers got what was coming to them, but I think you may be taking it a bit far here. I'd rather see my team win than get beaten by any other, regardless if their idiotic team selections.
I suspect, if you're honest, the same would be true for the vast majority of fans from any club including Salford.
For evidence just look at the rejoicing on the Widnes board.

| I think you should always put out your best 17 week in week out.
I don't think the Wigan Warriors head-coach will do what he did yesterday again in a hurry.
Squad rotation works OK in football but clearly after yesterday's crazy result at the Stobart Stadium it does not.

| I wonder if anyone in the know regarding team selection had a punt on the game?

| If I was a Widnes fan I wouldn't care less. They beat the team in front of them, next season people will only remember that Widnes won.
Wigan have paid the price for arrogance, unless the players are genuinely injured.
Well done Widnes.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr:7891.jpg |

| Think people are making a lot out of this, Wigan have a squad of players that are there to be used. They were 36-18 up at one point and should never have lost the game, the team they put out was far stronger than Widnes on paper so full credit to Widnes for beating what was still a very strong Wigan team

| Surely that's the point of a squad, you pick your team from those in the full squad not just the so called 'first 13'. How else are you supposed to give young talent a decent shot at first team rugby. Gaffer thought they were still strong enough to win, he gave them the chance to prove themselves and they failed miserably. Fair play to Widness they took advantage.
Personally i wouldn't care if they did the same to us you can only beat what is in front of you, at the end of the season if two points gained like that get us into a playoff place would you still be moaning? doubt it..

| Don't see the problem ... not convinced that was an unexceptably weak team. If they want to utilise their squad let them. Nobody would complain if they'd done it against a better team.
