Hope the latter isn't true but could explain why he's been quiet on twitter and also being sat in the stands on Friday night.

must have really 3d barker off us winning and no Sale are moving in stories , he's always got a Tax story to fall back on , or he could write something positive
Longs coaching career spans 3 SL games,,

| Sean Long is only using Salford as a stepping stone anyway. Offers will be flooding his way soon enough and if it's the NRL who's knocking at his door who can blame him, Barton or Bondi it's not hard to choose, learning your trade under Vievers or Toovey, again, not a hard choice, no disrespect to vievers. Parish obviously seen sean's coaching talents to which we're beginning to enjoy at the moment. It's obvious and great to see Long's stamp of attacking rugby which hasn't been apparent for many a year. There is definately a sea change with ball in hand this season. Praise must go to vievers too for noticing and applying a complete new playing structure, which for years has been needed, but i'll reserve judgement on PV until end of season although without Long's acquisition we'd be no better than the SM era. The longer we keep long the better it is for Salford but playing for 80 minutes must be on everyone's agenda at SCR at the moment.

| I have already said on another thread,If Parish had not of come last season,Long would have not been at Salford now
I don't think he would have come for Simms,do you.I sincerely hope he stays at the club for a long time, but If goes
to join Parish, good luck to him,but If he stays,he is here because Matt Parish, and nobody else.

| Personally if Long goes at the end of the season we could do worse than try and get Briers to do the same job next season, a very talented attacking player who would I'm sure instill the same work ethic.

I have become cynical and sceptical since viewing this forum but a few things do still trouble me.
When, for example, will Phil Veivers receive some praise when reports last year,at the time he 'filled in' as head coach he received praise from the players, including DJ ? Or is he just using Salford as a stepping stone ?
As lots of ingoings and outgoings from clubs are arranged sometimes many months in advance, why is it that Steve Simms is not given any credit for good people arriving at the club ?
With the,as yet, unappreciated Phil Veivers having spend a great deal of time under the coaching tutelage of Brian Noble, perhaps Sean Long sought advice from Noble and decided working alongside PV was a good idea.
I don't know the reasons for SL to leave an international tour but the last I read rlHERErl suggests he may rate Brian Noble.
Anyway,I now know that all the good at the club was done by Matt Parish, who was at the club for a number of weeks only and planned long term, and everything else is not worth bothering with as nothing is planned but only due to serendipity and is only temporary.

| Actually if anyone deserves the credit then I would expect Basil Millward is the guy.
He introduced Long to Parish and reccommended Salford possibly in part due to his friendship with Simms.
Parish alone would not have been a draw.
We all know Salford is a stepping stone for everyone, if a coach or player shows loyality during their contact I have no issue.
This is something Parish failed to do.

| Before anyone claims Shannon Mcpherson is a Parish signing he had been signed by the now assistant coach at Wigan and by rlthe statement in this press releaserl he wasn't breaking any sprinting records to sign him.

So Matt Parish wasn't Salford coach when we signed him?
