Just read an article suggesting we are linked with a move for Stefan Marsh @ Wigan................just wondered why we don't try and prize Goulding away instead - a centre by trade and a fans favourite in his hort time here. Didn't seem to get a look in for most of last season so may think its time for a change.

his contract expires at Wigan in Nov .
personally i'd welcome any wigan trained lad into our team , besides there's a spare Shirt going with ' Stefan' on it ..

Thought goulding was brilliant for us when he wore the famous red shirt.
Stefan marsh would be a useful signing.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at eather or both playing for salford next season, it would mean we would have to shuffle our deck a bit with Nero becoming a full time second row but in reality we need forwards not backs

Yes, they were my thoughts - push Nero in to the second row in order to tighten the defence out wide. I thought he looked more effective in the forwards rather than at centre last season.

I could see a loan deal for the season possibly. He seems to be highly thought of at Wigan so I can't see a permanent move being allowed to happen.

As for my opinion of him as a player he could be a good winger in time but he will never make a centre. He runs with his head down at all times in a way I've never seen and hardly ever passes the ball.

As for Goulding there's no chance. With Joel Tomkins going that puts him in line for the right centre spot.

Cant really comment on Stefan Marsh not seen much of him.Goulding had a good spell with us but im happy with our wingers and i dont rate goulding as a centre.So for me Goulding is a no go.

Thought Marsh looked quick at the Willows, but going off what the Wigan fans comment, not sure he has the class to play centre. However, if Marsh stands up in defence, then he's already better than Gibson.

Do we really need another winger? Clay did well when he came in last season so I see him as the back up.
What concerns me is if Patten gets injured at any point who would cover fullback?

I don't think either of them would be what we need. We need a true, out and out centre IMO. Someone who can organise us in defence outside and put Broughton/Williams away.
