Our final season at the Willows didn't quite go according to plan, I wouldn't call the 2011 season anything like a success story and yesterday was by far the most depressing drive back to Lincoln, after our last game at the Willows. On the other hand it's not been all bad, so why don't we cheer ourselves up by listing some plus points from this season.

I'll go first.

Danny Williams has been the find of the season. He's shown some quality plays, and put in at least one crucial/possibly try saving big hit in our last game at the Willows.

Hull KRs loss is definitely our gain.

That's a good call LDF, just what we need to lift ourselves out of the gloom.

Let's not forget, we have a licence for three more years of top flight RL (let's hope we get to be top flight) and were moving to a brand new stadium facility.

We're not.....

Crusaders
Oldham
Swinton
Workington
Keighley
Leigh
Halifax
Sheffield Eagles (the original one)
Gateshead (the original one)
PSG

I could go on. Despite all the whinging and moaning on here, we are a very well run club who have survived the many changes in recent RL history and are still, despite everything, in the top division. Many similarly sized (and bigger) clubs have over-extended, managed their finances badly and bankrupted themselves or just not been able to make the improvements we have to maintain a place (however tenuously at times) in Super League. Some people need to remember this

I was hoping for something a little more positive, like something our club has done on the pitch.

Not how other teams have failed.

Come on there must have been something you have seen this year. I really enjoyed the Wigan game at home, Cashmere was immense that night and Patten played really well. Looked every bit the player we thought the club had signed.

There's been plenty...

I've enjoyed watching Jody Broughton, Danny Williams, Mark Henry, Sean Gleeson, Luke Pattem, Wayne Godwin, Boyley and Matty Smith in particular

The HKR and Bradford games @ home and Warrington away

But these things are transient. All I was trying to say is that rather than always knocking the club we should remember that many other clubs haven't been as well run as us and have suffered. Surviving and being where we are is a massive reason to be cheerful in my view

Sad preacher nailed upon the coloured door of time; Insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme. There'll be no mutant enemy we shall certify; Political ends, as sad remains, will die.:1602.jpg

The banter with opposition fans when at the Willows: only Cas and Salford allows fans to mix so well.

Some of the songs: I am Salfordian fits us to a tee.

The fact that we have the best chairman in the country.

Our wingers and that we have speedsters coming up from the youth teams.

A simple shirt that I wore with pride (rather than something that looked like 1970's pyjamas).

That being a Salford fan is not easy, not a bandwagon, not fashionable, not immediately identified, not the refuge of glory-seekers, and does not feel traditional like the heavy woollen or coal-mining area teams: you have to work at it and this makes it special.

Not many reasons to be cheerful according to Andy WilsonThis was such an important season for Salford, and it has been completely wasted, despite significant investment from their chairman John Wilkinson. Unfortunately there is no good reason to be optimistic of any on-field improvement soon, unless the move to a new stadium next season attracts the interest of new directors who can give the club a much-needed new impetus.'"

we're not going to be beaten again this season . icon_lol.gif

We didn't sign Tevita -Leo Latu

Our 18's side, playing like a team with pride in their shirt

Finally having a Coach with the honesty to tell it like it is

Danny Williams falling into our Lap and scoring 8 tries ( somebody should make a lad on the Yorkshire Bus Director of football .. his contacts are better quality ..)

Todd Snape Wilkinson Koukash The Faithful!:

Quote: Iain "Not many reasons to be cheerful according to Andy Wilson:

Would be interesting to find out whether he wrote a similar review for the last game at Wilderspool as they were as dire as we have been for most of this season.

Not a fan of Mr Wilson, never seems to have anything positive to say about Salford for somme reason........
