Great turn out, shame the players let us down. Over 10k there, but as usual, Salford gave them nothing to come back for.

It's a real shame you lost.

Andy Wilson of the Guardian was at your match and he tweeted the turnout, which was impressive. Hopefully you will have a better team next year or a team better coached, whichever is appropriate, to create a more competitive outfit which will attract those supporters back again.

There were the usual comedy "Salford" moments. The guard of honour marching out of sync, the two singers for the national anthems having to share a microphone.
Some great legends were on show, Watkins, Fielding, Coulman - leaves a bad taste that our current "big" earners let us down today.
Some players need to have a good hard look at themselves before coming back next season. I have heard that MP only wants to keep 3 of the current squad.
Two good things came out of today, 1) 10,000 people have an interested when the price is £10 and kids are free. 2) Ratchfords lap of honour was great, he spoke to so many kids and wasnt just playing lip service.

Team were 'back to square one' a really poor performance.
Unless we invest HEAVILY in the squad for next season it's going to be the same old story, the current squad are nowhere near good enough.
Matt Parish may be good, but he's not that good.
Our pack are LIGHTWEIGHT
Our 'stars' (Patton and Holdsworth) are simply not up to it, new signings so far smack of more of the same (promising/average).
I will be going next season of course, but how many 'stay away or new fans who came today will be tempted to go to Barton...............not many I suspect.
Next season still presents a great opportunity...........Wilky, PLEASE DON'T BLOW IT!!!!!

Hope you all had a great afternoon, listened on the radio and it sounded like the club put on a fantastic afternoon which summed up what rugby league is all about.

How many got in the ground for free today on free passes how can the club survive on freebies as results won't pull in the crowds. I hope the club changes the way its run I was reading in news paper on way to game and it was saying we have the second highest season tickets prices in super league if true which I don't think it is. If that's fact then we need to reduce prices new stadium or not we are one of the worse teams in the league. I also think they need to get rid of simms its about time coach has full control. As fans I am cheesed off with free tickets giving out when I pay full price. By looks of things its the only way to get people to come. I feel the club can't make people buy season tickets when other fans get freebies. That's why I feel season ticket sales will go down.

Sad to see the Willows go. A friendly place with friendly people where you could have a good time irrespective of the result (this year for us Bulls fans more than ever). If the new ground is half as good and successful as Wilko desrves it will really be something to be proud of.

Eccles star - I have it on good authority there were no freebies as you have mentioned on several threads now. Just 10 quid adults and free kids.....so in all a FANTASTIC turn out!!

How come there are so many on United fans site Red Issue then saying they have freebies?

I hadnt heard about any freebies, just the right priced tickets.

As for the game, i may be speaking a bit out of turn after a fair few ales but i really dont see many id keep for next season. Williams and broughton really do look class, other than that i am struggling. Wouldnt lose any sleep if holdsworth and pattern followed cashmere and henry back to oz, we need to start again.

Other than the game, great day really enjoyed seeing some of the old guard.

Sorry to disapoint you I do not follow football only rugby but I am questioning the cost of season ticket as I won't be getting one any more I am getting fed up of watching rubbish money is tight at moment and salford are not good value for money infact a few of my friends are concidering paying for one. Fed up of watching crap rugby
