I know this topic has been aired time and time again, however, I feel as though we are continually lagging behind other clubs in terms of signing players. The introduction of Matt parish gave hope to us salford fans and his no nonsense attitude is a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, it appears that our dear director of football has run out of ink. There has been constant rumour and conjecture into potential signings, however, this has been met with stony silence. If we are to embrace a modern coach like Matt Parish, we need to rid ourselves of an out of date, out of touch, Steve Simms. Parish and Veivers are more than qualified to spot a good player. I for one think we should let them get on with it.

As I said in another thread I hope everybody is behind Matt Parish as I am sure he can deliver.

I am mystified at the moment as to what is going on. There is a deafening silence from the club about Joel Moon and Shaun Long. Are they with us next year? Why are the individuals announcing that they are coming to Salford? Is Steve Simms on holiday?

Is Matt Parish trying to improve the squad for next season or is Steve Simms responsible for our signings?

Why do some people think that the Club should be commenting on every little bit of conjecture and rumour just to please the six fans who pop onto the Turkey for a moan whenever the team under performs/loses/fails to sign someone etc etc.

The reason we haven't announced any new signings is because we won't be making any.... The salary cap is 1.6 million!....this year we came in at just under a million. Next year we are going to be reducing that by just over 200k.

Sad news I know but with that news is to come some more shocking news. News the fans I feel will be shocked and disappointed at. More than a shake up. More like a wipe out....

Some people have hit the nail on the head about using a pigs ear. ETC ETC. But what's not yet known is that it will be done using a cows booty hole. and all because MP has been told to slash the squad and reduce the deficit by 200k for next year.

If that is the case, why has Joel Moon said himself he has signed? Why is it the worst kept secret that we have signed him and Sean Long? Why are we linked with Scott Moore?

Ok, it's not been verified yet, but it hardly sounds like what is happening in reality relates to what you are saying.

If you are so sure about the Clubs future, instead of just hinting, give us a something a little more substantial.

Agreed Butcher, I keep hearing the same old stories about how we haven't got any money and how we need to reduce the salary but SURELY any coach moving into a new role would check (before he signed a contact) what money is available to create his own team...and I dont think for one moment that MP is a mug. I also think youth is the way to go rather than buying journeymen from down under - weve bought too much dead wood under Mcrae and it didn't work.

Redgenie.... i would like to bet the club makes 4 or 5 signings all of which will be matts signings, just because we dont hang our laundry in public for all to see doesnt mean things arent happening!! we as supporters will be told of the news when the club sees fit whats wrong with that?

Let me tell you now for one thing, if he has been told to slash the wage bill by 200k why did they offer bumper contracts to try and retain stef and cashmere, this is no way of slashing your wage bill is it ? just these 2's contracts would of been worth 200k at least anyway so its a load of crap !!!
Realistically the players out the door are cashmere, parker, henry , ratchford and early retired bailey tese contracts would be well over 200k let me tell you that for sure.

Ignore the saying salford arent signing any players because its evident they are, im sorry but if someone offered me a job that i have to coach a failing squad with 2 of your best players leaving and slash the wage bill by 200k and not sign any new players i would tell them where to shove it.
Feka will be at widnes on loan next season, adamson and sidlow have already been told to look for new clubs !!!
trust me salford will spend again in pre-season.

Matt Parish has been in the country less than month and quite rightly will look at what he has and what he needs for next season.
