| Anyone officially know what's happening after the Catalan game? Been trying to scan for articles on the subject. Is it to be demolished? Maybe they'll keep it open for varitey and don't wish to jinx anything but incase the new stadium is not built on time. Also now Swinton are lodging there, if they get promoted, will they be looking to have another season at The Willows which could see them push crowds up to 1500.

| Last I heard Swinton where trying to get funding for a stadium in Agecroft, don't know how far down the line they are with that. That why it got me thinking will they be at The Willows for another season?

| Think the plan is to keep the variety club and facilities open but build I think the term is priority housing for people from the services and the NHS on the rest of the ground. I can think of a few happy locals if suddenly there is an influx of nice Thai nurses

Indeed you are correct, the Idea is that we ( Swinton) are indeed looking for the funding to develop Agecroft and my understanding is it is an on going project.Something both Swinton and Salford have in common is the inability to keep fans informed of major developments. At the last press release by the board it was stated that the council were in favour and that the stadium could be built in around 16 weeks...watch this space i think springs to mind.
In all honesty should we gain promotion and the Willows is available I would take another season there if it means us getting Agecroft as without a doubt our crowds are increasing every game and to be fair there are a few Salford fans turning up watching, it does of course help having a competative winning team.

| The willows will close at the end of the season, Swinton will have to move, they have said that if the Willows is not available, which it ain't, and they have no ground there is a possiblity that Swinton will fold. They have been in talks with the council but no monetary support is available, but other plans are afoot for what could happen at Agecroft, all that is needed is financial backing and understanding from the banks.

So why not the blindingly obvious and have then use Barton? Still say Salford and Swinton should have closer links, utilisation of our younger players on dual contracts with Swinton so the development is right under our noses and the council gets two teams from within the city using the state of the art new stadium.
For me it's a no brainer.

but to many Swinton fans it won't be their ground and more importantly its not in Swinton.

I think it is Pendlebury, which is in Swinton and Pendlebury as that part of Salford is called.

| At long last we can now look forward with some hope for the future. What we need is a young assistant coach from Australia whoIhas done his apprenticeship like Michael Maguire who wants to make a name for himself. Ideally we need someone asap who can look at the squad we currently have and would be in a position at the end of the season to decide who he wants to keep. We need someone with imagination to encourage exciting football allied with the basics of a sound defence and high fitness levels that seem to be sadly lacking at the moment.

Average home gate so far this season is just over the 500 mark, although they did get more than that for their home NRC games.
