Salford City Reds are the National League Champions again and nobody will ever win a Grand Final more dramatically than this. Division One champions, Grand Final winners, winners of the Northern Rail Cup; everything their hearts desired. Down and out? Not a bit of it, they are never out. Memories are made of this forever and a day, Salford fans will ask "where did you watch the 2008 Grand Final? Where did you see John Wilshere save the day with the last kick of the ball?":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10288.jpg |

| Not much of a surprise and it's good that this has been decided and the club can get on with recruiting a new coach
I know he hasn't got many fans on here but I would like to thank Mcrae for his efforts while he was at Salford. We may not have played the rugby we would have liked to have seen but I don't believe that it was due to a lack of effort or commitment. He seems like an honourable and decent man and I wish him well in whatever he does next

| Not a surprise and yes my thanks to Shaun for his efforts here during his time and wish him well in the future. I am not sure how history will paint his time with us but its now time to move on. New Stadium, New Coach and hopefully new glories for Salford.

| Expected, Thank goodness probably jumped before club could push him.
Possibly the worst signing by the club in the last 5 years (another great move by Simms). He has taken us back to the stone age, he lacked commitment, ideas and work ethic. These are the words of the players BTW as said in FR meeting.
The to rub salt in the wounds he goes off on the sick??? captain leaving a sinking ship????
GOOD RIDDANCE!

| This is the biggest piece of non news ever . As if he was EVER gonna' be offered re-appointment anyway ! The best news would have been his dignified resignation to end the possibility of him coming back and us installing a head coach now with a head start before next season.

He's not gone yet he could still come back and see his contract out till the end of the season.

| For once can we give this guy some respect.
We have had some highs whilst he has been coach.
Our elevation into super league was never a foregone conclusion and his appointment, and that of Robbie Paul, certainly helped, because of his profile, reputation and integrity.
He has conducted himself with dignity and became ill ,partly because of the abuse he received from fans,so lay off him !

Our elevation had almost nothing to do with him. Anything other than winning all the trophies on offer that season would have been unacceptable and some of the performances we put in were dire to say the least. I wish the guy well but his tenure as coach has been a disastrous 4 years that none of us will ever get back. The wins at Headingley and against Hull in the cup were great but that was scant consolation for the garbage that was constantly served up. We must appoint the right person this time, whoever that maybe.

We had our doubts but us getting in had nothing to do with McRae if we're honest.
