| Am real happy with the performance tonight - massive improvement even on last week.
Patten was classy, Godwin tackled like a hero, Matty Smith kicks were great, Cashmere's workload was something else.
And best of all, we can play better than that - how may times did we lose the ball in good positions?
No Holdsworth or Ratchford half.
Well done Salford, I will take performances like that all day long.

| Sat in the grey mare as we speak analysing the game as we speak. Thought we were decent tonight. Yes, we bombed a few half chances, yes, theyvscored a couple of soft tries, but they are a very good team. Wigan have a lot of strength in depth and judging by the u20 game have plenty of others to step in when they get injuries. We grafted tonight and gave everything we had. There is still more to come & against mid table teams that would have been a win tonight.
Let's get behind the lads as after tonights showing there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel!

| Really pleased with performance!! Felt with a bit better execution we may have sprung a surprise. Matty Smith was outstanding and attacked the line, Nero had a very good game, Ratchford's bombs first half caused chaos, Broughton got more in the game, Sneyd had a good impact, good imagination & to cap it off Patten looked like the player we was promised!! Onwards & upwards!! Well done boys!!

| The lads can hold there heads up high tonight,we was never gonna beat wigan but we gave em a dam good game, shame bout the last try as it flattered em a bit, great all round individual and team performances especially in defence, kicking was great and disapline was fantastic for a change!looked very good going forward at times, and thought young sneyd did very well when he cam on and was scared of trying a few different things..onwards and upwards!

| Sorry have to disagree thought we were playing Wigan at the best time ever, mentally and physically deplete from the wcc, we was at home! However we did play better but accepting 32 points put past us at home we are not a top 8 side (yet).
Think the score would of been far worse if SM was in charge.
School Report
Improved but lots to work on. High expectations but not making the grade currently D+
Ha ha hope you like my analogy.

| I thought Cashmere and Matty Smith were excellent for you tonight. Good luck for the rest of the season.

| agreed we are not top 8 by a long way,but even if we finish 9th or 10th i suppose its an improvement,we could have had an easyier start to the season and possibly had 3 wins out of 4,but at least we can look at the games we have had and realise where we need to improve to go forward!

| Matty Smith was very good for Salford tonight.
Game was tighter than the score suggests I think.

| Agreed - think I counted about 7 times we lost the ball between halfway and the Wigan goal line. If we'd completed our sets and put away a couple of chances we could have made it a lot closer and maybe been pushing for the win at the end

| Much of the optimism for this season was based on the clear out and signing of new players.
With 2 second rowers and a centre yet to appear, maybe we need to bear that in mind.
One other point
Adamson ?? I just don't get it.Are his stats brilliant or am I just missing something

| Well done to all players and staff after a strange week for the club. Only negatives for me was the soft try inside the 1st minute and some bad handling when in good attacking positions. Some cracking attacking kicks from Ratchford and Smith (Ratchfords bomb.... did it come down with snow on it .....it was in the air so long ) , and Sneyd looks pretty classy too. Great effort all round with definate improvement all round. Hope we build on this.

Defensively he's good but he offers nothing going forward. Seemed very laboured running the ball in tonight.

| A much improved performance and as mentioned a lot more players stepped up today to show us what they can do. I feel if Ratchford has been ok to continue we would have been on the scoreboard a few more times tonight. However, thats not to take anything away from Sneyd, he came on for the restart and had a blinder. The potential with Holdsworth, Ratchford, Smith and Sneyd is endless. Selection is going to be a nightmare!!
For me a special goes to Godwin, he had an outstanding match tonight and his tackling and work rate was nothing short of heroic. It was like having a young Alker back on the pitch.
Adamson does seem to be slow of the blocks this season but there are signs of him getting back to the form we want from him. I think his injuries have taken a bit more out of him than all expected. I have no doubts that he'll come good again, I just hope it's sooner rather than later.
Well played to all and here's hoping some Malc Magic over the next few days will bring a big W against Leeds next week!
