| I know a few names have been mentioned as to who we'd like to have replace McRae as head coach, well I'd love to have Dunneman back. Its no coincidence we finished in the playoffs when we had him. He's been coaching since he left us. IIRC he went to Canberra as a player/assistant coach. He's now assistant coach at Newcastle Knights. He's got experience now and he was always an intelligent player for us, got us organised in attack and defence. I think he could do a fantastic job here.
Whether or not he'd want to come back is another matter but I'd prefer him over Noble, Cullen etc.

| An exciting name to mention, a quality performer, & an intelligent man. Like to see John Cartwright in the mix too, but Dunnemann might be more realistic. Cheaper than Nobby too, I don't see him coming to Salford tbh.

Just been doing a bit of research and he coached Northern Pride to 3rd and Runners up in the Queensland Cup in 2008 and 2009 respectively. He is also a Level 2 coach and Level 1 sports trainer according to his Newcastle profile

| Quality suggestion that got me thinking are Clinch and Panapa both still involved in RL?.
I'd certainly like to see what Duneman though about the position.

Glad a few people seem to be thinking along the same lines as me. I just think we need somebody with a rugby brain and some genuine intelligence. Dunneman has that and has played for 15 years and coached for 4 now, so he's fairly experienced and I reckon he could make the step up to being a Superleague head coach. Besides, anybody is better than McRae

| Cartwright has signed a long-term deal IIRC. The likes of Dunemann could go well, although he may be earmarked for an NRL head coach gig in the near future. There are plenty of talented coaches over here in competitions like the Queensland Cup - there are bad ones like Walters, but everyone here knew that. A bit of research could do wonders.

| I haven't been following Dunneman's career since he left our shores. Whilst he only played for us the one season, the players seem to really play for each other - finished 5th in the league and a handful of games we lost by less than 6 points. Whilst I can't attribute this to Dunneman I feel he definitely had some sort of influence on the performance of the team - why we didn't keep his services for the following season I will never know.
Yes I agree with all of you - I think he would be a terrific coach for us - and I think he would welcome the Challenge!!!!
