Does anybody remember from the 70's (or before if you are older than me) when at half time the players used to go in the stands with a bucket to collect money (think it was for whoever's testimonial year it was)

Yea they certainly did, but can you imagine the abuse some of the player nowadays would get. In them days though nobody would dare abuse the likes of Colin Dixon or Kenny Gill.
They also used to go around the ground with a sheet that people would throw change into for various good causes, can you imagine the health and safety do gooders allowing that nowadays.

Health and Safety would make them wear hard hats, goggles and safety footwear. Plus gloves in case the sheet rubbed against their hands.

If McRae was coaching them to do it they'd only drop it anyway.
