| Agreed , he is a huge ( literally ) reason why Wigan have gone so well this season.
The award is voted for by the players now , not an oligarchy of RL press chumies so it means something.
2nd successive Australian to win , but only the 5th since it's inception in 1977.

Three very well deserved special awards there. Obviously Cunningham has been a superstar in RL terms but has been one of the best players in SL for many years. Alker and Demetriou are more of the unsung hero type but have always shown massive commitment to their clubs and performed week in, week out.
I am, of course, especially pleased that Malc has been rewarded in this way. he's been a fantastic servant to our club and shown loyalty that is so rare in modern times. Well done Malcolm

Hull Kingston forward, class by all accounts. Pretty sure Richards has just become only the second man in history to top the try scoring and goal kicking charts in one season, Len Killeen being the other in the 60's.
*I take that back, previous records include all divisions and I'm not sure who has topped the charts in lower divisions this season.

Problem for all them was Offiah was running in tries for fun in most of the years they played so it made it hard for anyone to do the double and Lydon wasn't that prolific a try scorer despite his great career.
