| Decent start from Wild, nice try and a few decent tackles for him, nothing to much from Anderson so far, only 10 minutes gone yet though!

| Solid first half from Wild, good try, working hard and has put in a decent amount of tackles, hope hes like that for us next season. Anderson has just been average for me, not done anything special, a few decent tackles but nothing more.

3596.jpg this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

| I thought Wild had a very good game, not convinced about Anderson but from the outset Wire didn't look up for the game. I watched as they came out of the tunnel and every single player looked so demotivated you could almost feel it, said there and then they were going to lose this one.

I think Warrington peaked a little too early this year. I also feel their cup run eventually took it's toll on a team with several 30+ year old players.
I was a bit surprised at the reaction from the wire fans on the half-time hooter and also walking out early. (Can't imagine that ever happening at Salford a few weeks after winning a challenge cup at Wembley) Some people have very short memories, they behaved like spoilt children who can't get what they want. I think those that booed are their fickle bandwagon fans who won't be seen for dust when they go through an inevitable slump at some stage in the future. I also thought the boo's were disrespectful to Huddersfield who were outstanding in the first half.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Mmm ..... So he was 'ok' in 2004, suggesting that he has never been 'good' either before that season or after.
Remarkable really then that he's held a position in Wire's squad since that season, especially over the last 18 months whilst they have been pretty bloody good.
But I suppose that you are a better judge of a pro rugby league player than either Cullen or Smith, so fair comment then.

| Not wanting to judge players before they've pulled on a shirt , but it looks like we've signed Wild just as he's comming back into form , Vinnie looks Knackered, but it's been the end of a long hard season , Vinnie might do better for after a rest and a good pre season where we'll use him off the bench , otherwise we've swapped a younger Sibbett for and older one so to speak .

I know what you mean but he's not a lot older and he's not an asthma sufferer like Ian to my knowledge. I agree that Vinnie Anderson does look exhausted due to a long season but most of the Wire players looked drained on Saturday.(Cup run taken it's toll) Hopefully a few weeks rest and he will come back refreshed and bring a lot of experience to the team next year.

| Do you ever get the impression Salford's recruitment policy is based on how well players perform against Salford? If it is, not sure it's the yard stick we sould be using!!!!!!

Good point. I remember Phil Hassan scoring two amazing tries against us for Leeds and he didn't quite turn out to be the world beater we were hoping for...
