Just read that Bradford are going to be selling season tickets for next season at £60 if 10,000 sign up early for next season. What a great idea if our club could get round the schools before next season and offer a similar package i.e £60 for adults and say £20 for kids if we were to sell 5K - 6K i think that this would be a great building block for the new stadium?

port vale fc did a simalar thing last year,there target was to shift 7000,dont think they actualy did it though.

Not against Bradford's idea but they're trying to get some lapsed fans back who've left over the last couple of years, but were there in their SL-dominating period.

Won't work for us though IMHO as we won't ever get anywhere near that many ST holders.

Leigh tried it last year too - I believe it failed there due to a lack of publicity.

We'd have to set it at maybe 2000 for it to be a more realistic amount for people to think about doing it.

How about a staggered offer, First 1000 by the end of October £60
Next 1000 by end of October £100
After October to end of November £120
From December to January £140
after that proper price

Couldn't afford it, the club would lose a fortune.

I think it's an excellent idea BP but as it's an excellent idea there's absolutely no chance of anything like that taking hold. Not while it's football season anyway

I can't. I would put my mortgage on it being true though.

All it would do is encourage current ST holders to buy earlier at a lower price.

Any increase in the number of ST holders would be slight and even then they would be paying a much reduced price, hence reduceing the overall revenue generated from ticket sales.

It may also put people off buying a ST if they can't get it in October ("just coz I disn't have time/money to get my ST in Oct, why should I pay an extra £40 for it?!"icon_wink.gif

The beauty of the 'pledge' scheme that Bradford are operating is that is gurantees they maintain their current ST revenue, as reduced prices only come into operation if there are significant increases in the numbers sold. This in turn gives ST holders an incentive to encourage friends, family and colleagues to buy a ST as it may end up saving them money.

I paid them £ 50 and all I got was a ' chuffin membership card with my mug -shot on the back and Alkers on the front gurning at me.

so the chances of a £60 deal are about as slim as me being named as the next Mr Cheryl Cole , unless someone slips a copious amount of Liberty Cap Mushrooms in the directors Teapot.

let us all in for nothing ,as a farwell present for all the years we have paid for watching rubbish , i bet the gates would go up then , or better still do away with season tickets for kids and oap s and charge us adults an extra couple of quid ,i for one wouldnt mind paying
