| After watching tonights game Cas v Warr i just cant see us moving forward as Cas have. They struggled in there first year back in superleague, but seemed to learn alot from it and are now competitive against any team they play.Whereas we look like we have gone backwards to championship level im really really worried the future for us is bleak.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

Can see th epoint you're making, and I had hoped we might follow in Cas' footsteps, but they have twice as many fans as us - that's double the gate receipts, twice the sales in the club shop, twice as much potential for sponsors/advertisers (and hence more potential commercial income) as well as more support from the terraces during matches.
It's no wonder we can't keep up with them?! And before anyone tells me that crowds are poor because of the poor RL we play, we've always had poor crowds and Cas were getting far better attendances even when they were getting battered week in, week out.
I appreciate that our fans seem to the think that we deserve better from the club, but perhaps the club (and especially JAW and HC) deserve better from the people of Salford???

| [iThings can and will only change when we move into our new stadium.
Hopefully when the stadium at Bartion is ready the Salford City Reds will still be playing in the Engage Super League.
In the meantime I'm afraid we are in for a real up and down couple of seasons by the looks of things, the only good thing is there is no threat of relegation.

| Stadium = interest = more fans = more money = better coach/players = win games = more fans etc etc. Easy, in theory.
Just thinking back to first game after the season we made the play offs, leeds at home. I know its leeds, who will bring fans anyway, but the attendance and atmosphere that day were top! If were doing well we wil bring the crowds in.

A good example of this theory was on display this week, during the week Carlisle played Leeds in a cup comp and the place was packed and rocking, yesterday Carlisle played MK dons and the place was empty and there was a bit of noise even though they won 5-0 there was no atmosphere.
So people will pick and chose their games and the Welsh team looked a poor choice at £18, perhaps we should move to a system of weighting for gate prices and have 4 categories with( A) being dearest and (D) the cheapest and the Welsh team would be a D whereas Leeds an A. A = £18 B = £15, C = £12 and D = £10.

I don't entirely disagree but, after making the playoffs and playing against Leeds, we still only just managed to break the 8k barrier, and that's as good as it gets for Salford crowds ... hardly a 'top' attendance.

| My point was though if we were to get a decent run growing we can attract decent crouds (ok top was a bit ott!!) and if we were t follow that up with a new stadium, people will come!
Dont think were ever gonna attract the biggest crowds but warringtons crowds werent exactly spectacular pre HJ, if we can average similar to them id be fairly happy!
