Pretty much how I thought it would play out, although why he even played against France when I'm fairly sure Smith was going with Tomkins in the other two games I don't know.

Odd one this, as I don't see McGuire or Tomkins as organisers - although Myler didn't do any organising against France or Wales. I wonder if it's an attempt to get more pie eaters to buy tickets,

Would've liked to have seen Thaiday play but on the flip side, I get to see the resurgent Nathan Hindmarsh ripping in.
Seriously people, don't get to bogged down in the pro's and con's of the England team. They're likely to get smashed either way. And if this is the case, I reckon it would be a real shame to miss out on the quality of the Aussies. They're not over here all that often so get 'em while you can me thinks.

I wonder if Wigan fans are worried about Smith using his influence as England/Wire coach to "poach" Tomkins as he clearly did with Myler????

Strange decision for me as I don't see Tomkins as a 7 at all...now Tomkins and Myler together at 6 & 7 would be a different matter. All I can assume is that Smith is going for a nippy/pacy approach around the ruck to get the Aussies on the back foot, what with Roby replacing Moore and having no specialist hooker on the bench.

Good call. OR. The only weakness, and use the word weakness very loosely, is around the ruck. An area British RL is pretty strong.
