There's nothing on the Lads Club website about this. It's possible that they weren't informed - it wouldn't be the first time a big corporation has trodden on a charity's good name. And the Topman link to the photographer says the shoot (shoot? I wish...) was in London. I'll give the club the benefit of the doubt until I've heard otherwise.

There's not much that the club could do if that is the case, other than assuring us that they had nothing to do with it. It would cost too much for a small charity to start any litigation with someone like these beggars.

Of course, there's nothing at all wrong with the gay West Ham/Millwall supporter look - we saw them all handbags akimbo on the telly last night - but not even Anthony H Wilson in his more louche Granada Reports days dressed like this.

Interestingly, since the link was first posted, Topman have removed any mentions of Salford Lads Club from the page. Although, if anyone's seen their shop window dressing recently they can't really deny ripping off Salford Lads Club...

whoever is in their marketing department obviously isn't too well up with the law regarding trademarks.

advertising the cheap tat overcoat on the same page using the registered brand name of the 200 year old Crombie company probably isn't one of their best moves either. I'd imagine they are also probably in a better position financially to take action against them than the lads club are...
