| Evening news tonight. Martin Offiah telling Salford bosses what it would take to keep the little genius. Is he worth it? My heart says yes my head says no.

| Pay him - if he goes, who do we replace him with - some 2nd rate garbage like Thorman probably. Before we know it, we're letting Adamson and Turner move on as well. We need to tie up our young players on longer deals. Without relegation Super League isn't about simply staying up anymore. We need to build a team and that involves having a core group of young players.
Get him signed until the season that the next decision on franchises is made. If the new stadium is almost finished/finished (we live in hope...) then we can look to possibly keep him for longer, if we've made no progression then wave goodbye.

The well spoken agent says it will take a Kings Ransom. Maybe over £60000 a year? That is just a guest before i get quoted

| The worrying thing about the agent is that he is looking for personal publicity as well as the best deal for his client. Remember, there will be no loyalty to Salford from either Myler or his agent - but both love the limelight, so you can be sure the story will run and run.

Offiah will be pushing for a six-figure salary, surely?

No doubt. If Offiah's appearances on Sky Sports News are anything to go by I could imagine any potential contract talks stalling with Offiah stuttering his way through them whilst forgetting Myler's name and the salary that they are asking for....

| Salford City Reds need to offer Richard Myler a five-year contract.
The 19 year old Myler is now an International player and should be rewarded.
Also Salford need to sign Luke Adamson, Jordan Turner and Stefan Ratchford on long term deals.
These four young players are a big part of our future and we need to keep them on board..

| If we used the money from a potential sale of Myler to sign up Adamson/Turner/Ratchford on long term deals you wouldn't see me complaining.

Ratchford is contracted until the end of the 2011 season and I know that Myler is contracted until 2010.
Didn't Adamson sign a new contract during pre-season?
I don't know when Turner's contract expires though. Anyone?
Either way, like you say, we have a nucleus of young players that we can hopefully build around.
