I was due to fly on the same flight mate, I, my girlfriend and daughter and two other decent reds fans, Chris and Louise managed to transfer to the Stanstead flight that departed an hour later, thanks to Chris who allowed me to queue jump over the barrier in the unorganised chaos at the ryanair desk, get next to him and ask him to get us on the same flight as him, I only had my passport and shouted to my daughter and girlfriend to get me there's immediatley and luckily the ryanair agent quickly hit the button for 5 tickets before quite a few disgruntled passengers hit the roof for my queue jumping! "Hey how did he get to the front of that queue"? followed by my daughters fast thinking reply of "It's his mate he's just checking what he's sorted out for us"
We hired a car (thanks Michigan Red) from Stanstead and drove back home yesterday, thanks to Louise who did all the driving as I was too ill to do it, arriving back at around 8 o'clock.
To say ryanair was a disgrace is beyond words, the flight to Shannon due out before ours was diverted to Perpignan and ryanair put on coaches for all those passengers to travel to Perpignan and fly from there, the Liverpool flight apparently was diverted to Montpellier but ryanair had no plans whatsoever to transfer us lot over there to get our flight
why not I'm unable to explain
They just told us either wait till Thursday for the next flight, transfer to another flight from anywhere else within ryanairs schedule or take a refund! Then to make a complete mockery of the whole situation the Stanstead flight was allowed to land and take off with no problems. I didn't hesitate to jump on that Stanstead flight otherwise it may of been a case of sleeping in Carcassone airport for two nights.
I heard some reds fans decided on a refund and were going to hire a car and drive to calais, what they were thinking about is unexplainable
All in all it could have been a lot worse and the flight out could have been cancelled and we'd have missed the trip completely. Just glad to be home now.
