Well, here's one to get your cheat antenna twitching. I didn't listen to the programme, but, according to someone on TotalRL, Matty Smith was on the RL programme on Radio Manchester last night and he said he's still being paid by Salford, with Wigan then refunding us.

it was only last season people was saying wigan have a team full of average players but Maguire was making us play to are best. i think some of you should look at are ins and outs this season of course we would have money left, joel and hoffman would of been two big earners never mind any one else and this season amos has left. funny how some in the know fans know all the financial doings of wigan, ian lenegan has spoke massively about smart spending and the salary cap also calling for all teams who want to make offer's to players to give the full proposal to the RFL to stop teams cheating or going over the salary cap. if moris lyndsey was still the chairman of wigan i would probably say yeah maybe there is a brown envelop being handed around but not under lenegan no way.

Oh what we wouldn't give to be dangerously close to exceeding the salary cap...
We should probably be thanking Wigan for splashing some cash, not damning them for it.

Our unused salary cap space is an asset we can effectively rent out to other clubs, for a fee . This is something we should be looking at doing more of.
