I told you weeks ago
No backtracking will be required. I have always said (since his sentence ended on 11 August) that it was possible he could get his Visa. However, it's unlikely in my opinion based on the UKBA guidelines. I will be surprised but anything is possible.
Unfortunately (for both clubs) it just seems to be the Chase/Hull FC saga repeating itself. The fee is agreed, the player agrees terms (and might even be announced) and then his Visa is refused. There have been plenty of signings 'announced' to the follow the same route (Greg Bird, Todd Carney and Michael Croker spring to mind).
I hope I am wrong but I forsee a disappointing outcome for everyone here.
By the way, my last client wasn't Abu Qatada. Though I don't think Chasegate will attract the same headlines.

Ok, one last time; I'll repeat it really slowly: His. Visa. Was. Sorted. Two. Weeks. Ago.

Without wanting to sound rude, you've not really given me a reason to simply believe what you say to be true. Are you Rangi Chase? Koukash? I could say anything (even slowly and with full stops between each word) but you would be right to question what I say unless I could provide bloody good evidence to back up what I claim.
As yet, I am to see evidence his Visa is "sorted" as you claim.

We're all supposed to believe you're Knottingley's answer to Perry Mason, so where's your proof?
I'm happy to wait til next Thursday when 'exhibit A' will be a certain Mr R Chase.
Like I said, the visa was sorted two weeks ago.

Bold claims from both..
Someone is going to be pretty sheepish, depending on how all this pans out.

| I completely disagree.
There will be no need for sheepism on my part. I have maintained throughout that anything is possible. Chase might get a Visa. All I have done is raise the complexities of the issues he has to overcome.

Firstly, I'm not from anywhere near Knottingley.
I suppose you can't offer proof of anything on internet forums (though I promise I am not from Knottingley). However, I would hope that most who read my posts will form the impression that I'm not chasing an argument, just raising the issues that might cause problems. The only proof is the UKBA guidelines which state clearly it is unlikely Chase will fulfil the 'good character' requirement (it's here www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... character/ if you want to read it in full.)
Unfortunately even if "exhibit A" is Rangi Chase, it does not confirm automatically he has a Visa. Plently of signings have been "announced" only to fall through due to Visa issues (Todd Carney - Huddersfield, Greg Bird - Bradford, Michael Croker - Hull FC) so I wouldn't automatically assume he has a Visa.
In all honesty I hope this all goes through. The money will allow Cas to strengthen the overall squad. One player does not make a team, and we have not exactly been pushing for the play-offs with Chase around.

More pseudo-legal double speak from Normanton's answer to Johnny Cochrane.
Objection overruled!

Someday, somewhere, today’s empires are tomorrow’s ashes.: |

| Quote: Red-Devils-PAW "You do seem overly concerned at players who have suffered an injury.
I don't know who you would have signed as an alternative.
We could have a sticky and compare the injuries against those players signed by other clubs.
Because of the post above I can start with a Warrington signing as he appears to have sustained more injuries than any player coming to Salford rlHERErl and they have aspirations of being 'Top 4' and seem happy with their head coach and backer.'"
You seem to be missing the point. Warrington are signing Roy Asotasi to [ireplace[/i the injury prone Adrian Morley. We're [iadding[/i injury prone players to our squad.
And, obviously, the problem with injured players is that they need to be replaced, so, given we now appear to have three injury prone forwards, we're going to need to squeeze a couple more under the salary cap to make sure we've got someone to fill in for them. It's a good job we're looking to use the Warrington style 'salary sombrero'.
As an alternative, well, looking at the stats I've been able to find, that young Jewitt at Salford seems a better bet than Morley. And if we do feel the need to sign some more 'experience' for the front row, Garreth Carvell was up for grabs but we only made a tentative enquiry about him, focusing efforts on signing Morley instead. Carvell tore us apart at the HJ earlier this season. Mozzer didn't.
Still, let's keep fingers crossed and hope that they have better years this coming season than they have over the past three. I'm still optimistic about two of them. Less so about the third.

Roy Asotasi is also injury prone so it's not a100% healthier replacement.
