I was speaking to a Red today and he said that he has never heard a 'local' accent at Old Trafford. They're all cockanees and Irish, apparently. He also said that he doesn't like United fans because they are arrogant, inbreds who lack manners and each of them sports a single eye brow.

Just wanted to expand on the point Monkeytowner posted above.

I know a lot of city fans and not one of then comes from Manchester, Salford, Stockport etc



Plus when I worked for City very few of the fans were from Manchester in fact a number of them were students at Manchester Uni who had found City by chance and decided it was easier to get tickets for so stuck with them. But what does it matter with where you are from you support the club you want to, it just happens I support my local professional football team which just happens to be United, as I do with my Rugby Club and cricket club.
What I have noticed is more people wearing city shirts all of a sudden, just wonder how long it will last this new found love of Mark's Mercenaries.

I'll be honest and admit to not being born in Salford...lived in Salford for years though for what that's worth!

I wasn't born in Salford and was a Reds season ticket holder for a long time before moving to Salford.

Born in Walthamstow (East London) and lived in Stretford/Chorlton pretty much my whole life - I probably live closer to OT than most United fans...

Well I will have to hang my head in shame.
Born in Middleton and lived there till I got married and moved to Prestwich.
Wife born and brought up in Salford and kids both born in Hope Hospital.
