Whilst I don't believe Locke hadn't been paid, I do question how the club has been getting round the salary cap. Could it be Locke expected to have a full three and a half year contract paid up after only two and a half with the final year paid up in full before being released a year early. This would make up his loss of earnings and ease pressure on the salary cap.

Now I'm not certain on the salary cap rules, but if a players contract is paid up in full and that player is released before the season begins, said players' salary doesn't count on the cap. I maybe wrong, but didn't Warrington release Hicks to sign Joel Monaghan, with Hicks paid up in full and his wage was no longer a factor on the salary cap?

Like I say, not certain on the rules, so please don't brutalise me if I'm wrong? However, I also have to question why the Warriors would sign Tomkins and release Locke. If Locke was going to make a full recovery from his injury they didn't need Tomkins, or was his behaviours causing problems for the Warriors too?

Just thinking back wasn't there rumors before we signed Locke that he had asked the Warriors for help clearing debt (possibly gambling I think)?

Could well be that the Doc has helped him out when he signed on the understanding it wasn't a gift more a loan.

Reading between the lines it does appear the Doc has possibly loaned him a sum of money that was offset against his contract. Taking into account MK's comments about wanting Locke to stay in SL it seems to me (with the grudge he now has) that the Doc wants another competitor club to experience the same problems he's endured. It could be untrue but there is no smoke without fire. Something hasn't been right we have known this for months.

I think what sent the alarm bells ringing for me was when Locke said pre season he's never trained as well and then failed to make the team in our opening fixture at Warrington. (After all the games Locke missed the previous year)

With Locke gone, I think our priority is to ensure that Evalds is staying put.

He's consistently proven that he's as good (if not better) than Locke on this season's form.

With the likes of Wellens retiring today, they better get signing him up before Saints come sniffing around.

To be fair, the fact that Locke's Twitter account vanished from the face of the Earth suggests that there was probably some truth in it. At least, there seems to be stuff Locke's posted that he's thought better of.

It's hard to say really, he hasn't looked fit since he got here. His best appearance was his first match for us IMO and recurring injuries have plagued him since. He's shown glimpses of talent between hobbling around in the games he has played though, if he is actually fit now (which he's supposed to be) then you'll be more than happy.

First game at Huddersfield he was tremendous although not match fit.
Since then,always seemed to be carrying an injury.
Top class act,always seems to have a massive amount of time. Showed big heart when playing against Cas,I think,on one leg.
If he's fit,he'll be a fantastic signing.
