| Where's it been announced he's not coming?
If he isn't it shows he has genuine ambition rather than just chasing the dollar, much as I'd like to see him pulling on a red shirt he does go up in my estimation and I wish him every success.

| If one good thing comes from this, it will hopefully have put off imbeciles from stating which players we have definitely signed, and starting 'next big signing' threads etc.

| It’s yet another hammer blow following this club I’m convinced we are cursed. Why announce a fee has been agreed with Bradford before knowing if the player is even willing to talk to us let alone considering signing for us? It’s just an amateur way of going about your business and it’s making us look like the laughing stock again.
I wouldn’t get overly excited about August 9th we will probably end up with a number of mercenary veterans nobody else wants just looking one final payday.
Be lucky to get 2000 tomorrow night!!

Think you will find most are tongue in cheek based on all the ridiculous media speculation?

I disagree and I certainly disagree with the earlier post suggesting statements from the Dr are not true.
For example - Wigan responded to the offer for Tomkins.Castleford fans have posted incessantly since the offer for Chase was made.
We either want some action or we just stagnate.I prefer the former.
I don't think what has been written in the press,in Yorkshire, means it all ends today.
What Dr Koukash said - presumably in response to a question from a Yorkshire based news reporter who had heard Bradford had agreed the fee was - Dr Koukash told the Telegraph & Argus“A fee has been agreed with Bradford and Brian (Noble) is keen to sign Elliott.
“We will do everything in the proper way. We will talk to the club, which we have done, and we will agree a fee, which we have done.
“At the end of the day it's up to the player if he wants to come. We can't force the player.”
Nothing wrong with that ! It will be difficult to persuade players to come.Bit of togetherness from the supporters may not go amiss.

| I can understand your frustrations. This situation just shows that success on the field can't be bought short term if you're an unfashionable club. It could take years to build a reputation that will attract the better players.

I disagree you go about your business privately and then if it happens you big it up with a press conference. I'm sure there was nothing preventing us making a request to Bradford that the offer be kept private until contact was made with the player.
Point 1 - Why didn't the club ask the players agent Andy Clarke if Whitehead was remotely interested before going down the path of transfer discussions with the Bulls?
Point 2 - Why did the Doctor have to make a comment to the Telegraph & Angus? He had the option to refuse making a comment.
With the story coming out about an offer accepted it dilutes any big impact the signing could have had. It's just common sense.

| The one good thing to come out of this is hopefully some of our fans (they know who they are) will stop giving in big ones on other forums and making statements on who we've definitely signed. They are just as clueless as the rest of us on who we've been talking to, although they'd like to believe otherwise. Also this may dampen down the expectations for august 9th, which can only be a good thing because as others have said its possible no one has signed yet and we’ll go out and panic buy a load of second rate players (again), we're still little old Salford in the eyes of the rugby league world and that will not change overnight.
As for not getting Whitehead, it’s a shame, but not the end of the world!

That would be tapping him up. He's under contract. Got to approach the club first.

Bearing in mind the libellous allegations against our club, thus far,and the fact that Bradford have a special place in the heart of the RFL it was best that the club, under the circumstances, were seen to be whiter than white and purer than pure or we may have had to deal with rlTHISrl and wait for rlTHISrl
With everything out in the open and above board the club can now negotiate with the agent and player if they so desire.
We really shouldn't believe everything we read in the press.

OK then ask permission from Bradford to talk with the players agent first to find out if the player is remotely interested before wasting everybody's time with transfer discussions.

Everybody's time?? How much of your time was wasted during this transfer discussion?
Are you ever happy or do you just like to moan? If so, go and moan some place else please.
We are trying to sign players to improve us. It is not an easy task as we are not fashionable. Even with money! Whether we whisper that we're trying to sign someone or shout it - the fact is we are trying to sign people!!

| Why have Bradford announced EW will not be joining Salford ? Surely Salford should be the club making the statement.
