| Think there needs to be greater emphasis on finding good young talent in the lower leagues. The prop that Saints unearthed looks a bit special and I'm amazed we haven't gone back to Halifax for Sam Barlow as again he looks way to good for the league he's in and you'd think someone like him in the front row would benefit from having Noble as his head coach (though thinking was he at Fax when Noble went there briefly?).

Why not? We've had plenty so far.
I'd like us to land a decent name rather than be linked to one atm.

| Quote: Michigan red "If Kev kicks like Wes Naigama (don't know if they are related) then he's worth the outlay.
Pretty sure with the exchange rate and salary cap differences that these fringe players offer the best changes of getting anyone with talent on the right side of 30 from the NRL. That's why the mooted tie in with an NRL club would be good so we get the inside track on decent young players eager for the chance to impress.'"
Kev doesn't kick.
If you look up his 2012 highlights on a certain video sharing site you will see most of his firstgrade tries and a few of his lower grade ones, which is pretty much all you need to know about him.
He scores an average of a try a game in the lower grades and has kept that up in firstgrade, and being one of the fastest players in the game (tested faster than Uate this year), his tries are often spectacular.

| Hell yes I'd like to see Paterson in a Salford shirt as he looks a cut above, with Dixon and Ashurst that gives us three quality back rowers. Personally think that Dixon would make a pretty decent #13 too but would think that is a position we will recruit for specifically.
Dobson is a very good players but not entirely sure with Fages, Evalds, Sneyd and Foran we need another half back though a solution would be to offer possibly Foran as part of the deal.

Looks a bit quick and has more than enough power, nearly enough to put you off with the shocking choice of purge to accompany the show reel though.

Newcastle Herald article - basically says you are kidding if you think McKinnon is a chance.
www.theherald.com.au/story/14693 ... it/?cs=306
If Ryan Stig every gets back on the field he would be a good buy - certainly better than Dobson, and will probably be a better all round player than Scott Dureau because Stiggy can tackle.

I don't think anybody really expects us to sign McKinnon. If the highlights are anything to go by, his aggression in the tackle, strong running and handling are similar to that of SBW and Sam Burgess. Naiqama appears to be a cracking player, well worth looking at, but something tells he could be in demand also.
Whilst I don't think Mauro and Foran aren't as bad as some make the out to be on here, they wouldn't appear to be making best use of the quota spots. If Noble does manage to bring in either Dobson or Smith, I'd hope we could Foran of the books, and Mauro needs to lose a fair chunk of that timber.

Kev Naqama has been tearing up the NSW cup for 3 years and has done nothing wrong in his half dozen games of firstgrade - in fact he has scored some great tries - but no one will offer decent money to a 5'8" winger in the NRL, even though the kid can jump.
He is on minimal coin, and that's all he'll get at any NRL club.

Could he play centre?

The article is the usual garbage from Nosey Parker (a) Dobson is not a stand off (b) Patterson has another year on his contract.

| Was talking to a lad at work who's played with Davies and he reckons he's an amazing kicker and clears it miles from the hand so hopefully we'll get more than the current 5 meter gain after a kick for touch.
He's still ginger though and it's a worrying trend.
