| I'm not sure which I'll be sick of hearing/reading most come the end of the month: Myler going to Warrington or Cristiano Ronaldo going to Real Madrid.

icons1949_files/4193-180guyguyme2003-msnicons.gif The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

| As long as he plays with 100% commitment to the Reds until he leaves unlike that ham shanker c*ley, I've no problems other than it would prove the franchise system over here wouldn't be working as all and sundry would still want to play for leeds/saints/wigan..
What does worry me is saints have dropped long like a hot potato, presumably they have another bun in the oven for the next ten years and I doubt eastmond is that bun..

| The whole idea of the salary cap was to give a level playing field and stop the so called big clubs buying all the talent.
The problem is that in the UK this is not the case.
It depends on attendances, revenue etc which means the big clubs still have more monet to spend than the likes of ourselves.
In Oz every club has a cap of 3 million dollars no matter whether you get 50K attendances or 12K.
This is why you see a lot of the top players coming over here whilst still in their prime. They can still get a good wedge at clubs like Wigan,St Helens, Leeds etc.
Why cant we have a system where all clubs have the same Salary Cap?

We do don't we? I thought you were allowed to spend up to the full cap now regardless of turnover. It's just that some clubs (like us) can't afford to do so.

| Didn't they change the rules this season so it is the same for all £1.6 million I believe, but we choose not to spend up that cap as essentially we can't afford it?

| OK if that is the case then it needs to be looked into.
1.6 on wages for a club like Wigan is easy.
They should look at what clubs can afford and make it a level playing field.
It seems that the RFL have thought Oz have a cap of 3 Million exxchange rate is around 2 so lets half it and use that in the UK
Anyone know where the figure of 1.6 comes from ?

I've not posted anything on the Warrington board, because, as I said, its just a rumour. I was just wondering if anyone on here had heard anything?'"
Wire very keen and happy to pay a 6 figure transfer fee. If Salford wait a year they will get ony 10% of that.
Hull were having a serious sniff of Turner but now they have signed Tansey that will cool.

| Hmm...
A player from Salford is called up to a GB/England team...
and ends up paying for that coach's SL team!
has this happened before?

3076_1671446335.jpg SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS
For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg |

What they should do is make it a percentage of turnover.
If they did what you want all the clubs would be governed by what Celtic can spend.
Where do you think the top players would go?
Under what I'd like to do it would incentivise clubs to grow, and get people to back them.

No they shouldn't. That would pretty much mean a return to a scenario where the big clubs effectively price out the smaller one's when it comes to signing the better players.
Nicely veiled argument though.

| As there is no relegaton for the next 3 years and the only way salford would get rid if he misbehaved in a certain way off the field i cant see why you would want to go.
If its a wage rise he (or Offiah) is after then give him one to match the likes of Alker in the team as he imo is as important, if offiah has asked for an obsene amount (which he might to force a move) then let him go and we'll use the cash we would have used on him to secure our other promising youngsters to the club.
If our promising youngsters do go and are poached by other clubs i feel the francise system will become a failure because how can a club like salford develop on the field giving Britains next generation a chance at the top level if other club keep coming an knickin them when they turn good.
Salford should be rewarded financially for their efforts regarding the current crop of youngsters at the club by the RFL imo
